i=sqrt(-1)
That means you have
(7 + isqrt(18 )) + (3 + isqrt(32))
That is
7 + 3isqrt(2) + 3 + 4isqrt(2)
That simplifies to
10 + 7isqrt(2)
For your 50: sqrt(x) + sqrt(y) =/= sqrt(x+y) _________________

In perhaps the most boring class of my life, I have a paper due (err, last Tuesday).
I need a topic. 3 pages about European history and stuff. Needs to have a thesis and be dated from 1640's to 1790's.
I really have nothing in my mind that I have to talk about. Prof already said the average grade is an A, so all I need is a topic with easy material and I'm good. I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks _________________

This probably is the longest active thread in TAST, the video thread. Was started in May of 06 and is still active _________________

How hard would you guys consider the AP US History exam? I really have not tried so far this year in the class(skimming the book, not paying attention, little to none studying for tests) and feel like it is not worth it taking the exam in May. I do have an A- in the class but feel as if I have gotten very lucky on the tests and I doubt that will happen come May as I really feel as if I have not learned much this year... _________________

Not hard at all. Get a good review book and just study that, that's what I did. I did the same thing last year that you're doing. I took the test and aced the multiple choice. However, I didn't know enough material to write about the DBQ (something about the Puritans or whatever last year, material that we covered for probably 2 days tops in class) so I didn't do that. Ended up skipping a couple other essays too and still managed a 3. _________________

I have to read "The Hollow Men" by T.S. Elliot for my AP English class this weekend and do some questions on it. It's kind of confusing to be honest, I'm not really feeling the poem. _________________

Will someone please help me with these. Im so bad at math.
In Exercises 65–72, find an element of set A that is not an element of
set B. There are many correct answers.
A = {y : y is a number between 4 and 10}
B = {y : y is a natural number between 4 and 10}
and
A = {y : y is an animal}
B = {y : y is covered with fur} _________________

4.5 and... a salmon? Or am I not thinking enough. Natural numbers are just integers right? |

For the first one, 4.5.... there are infinitely many numbers for this.
For the second one, let's try... a whale! Lots of answers for this one, but I think that the number of correct answers is finite.
And IrishGreen, fret not... I hate calculus too.... |
