Don't do lengthy posts, but here is my first attempt.

Overall Viewpoint:
Realistically, we won't be contenders to earliest 2017 (and that is if we hit on all the players in the draft which is unlikely). The way Sam is building the team is straight through the draft and only the draft. This isn't to say that we won't sign any big FA's, but expect them to be fairly young and fit what Brett Brown wants. The oldest player who is actually playing (once Granger is bought out), will be Thad and he's 25. Nobody over the age of 25 has played for us this season. This team is young which is perfect for Sam.

Sam Hinkie Strategy:
Sam knew that we were going to be mediocre for years and wanted to change that. With Philadelphia at the time being unappealing, we had to get worse to get better, hence trading all of our decent players. This is why the roster construction is shoddy and on purpose, but we have found some gems (Hollis Thompson, Tony Wroten) and some duds (Daniel Orton, Brandon Davies), and some work in progresses (Elliot Williams, Lorenzo Brown, Henry Sims). I do expect the team to take fliers on guys when they have a shot to. Their MO is player development. The great thing with how the roster is constructed is that most of the players contracts are not guaranteed and can be waived next year. Also, don't expect the euro stashes to come next year and stay, but Aldemir does intrigue me. With the draft I do expect us considerably to be better than this. This leads me to my next point.

The draft last year was the first taste of Sam as a GM. We all were shocked by the Jrue trade at first, but then we came to accept it. The thing that I like about Sam is that he values the draft a lot. When he does trades, he rarely gives up picks, and when he does, they're so heavily protected, that it rarely gets conveyed. So unlike other regimes that gave away a future 1st (that won't be conveyed thanks to Sam and his strategy) for Arnett Moultrie. Instead we get assets essentially for free (Maynor, Wroten, Mullens). Do expect that to go forward.

Draft:
With the draft for the first pick (which we really need to get #1, if not 2 with Milwaukee (Embiid) or Utah (Parker) picking ahead of us). Do believe that Wiggins is the guy there as he fits Brown's system perfectly with his athleticism. If he's not there, Parker would be the most likely with his dynamo offense which will provided a much needed boost, and then Embiid and Exum due to BPA. Worst comes to worst and pick 5th, Vonleh is the pick IMO.

The Pelicans pick will be interesting, 99% of me does think we'll keep the pick, but I have a feeling that we'll use some of the 2nd round picks as well as this pick to trade up to middle lottery. Either way this is entirely dependent on the first pick, unless BPA is involved. Right now they're 11th in draft order.

Wiggins as our pick- Harris, Saric, Staukas
Embiid or Vonleh as our pick- Harris, Hood, GRIII
Parker as our pick- Harris, Hood, Young, Staukas
Exum as our pick- Hood, Saric, Young, Staukas

As you see, I'm a Gary Harris fan. For the second round picks, I do expect some to be used in a Thad Young trade, some as Euro/NBDL stashes, and one or two as developmental.

Roster Breakdown:
Locks:
MCW
Noel
Wroten
Moultrie
Richardson (PO)

Most Likely Here Next Year:
Thompson
Mullins

Not Sure Either Way:
Maynor
Sims
Brown
Williams

Highly Doubt (Hope) Are Here Next Year:
Anderson
Davies

Traded:
Thad
Millions of 2nd Round Picks

Team Improvements Needed:
Shooting from deep
Defense
Talent

Brett Brown:
Brown is an excellent coach. Hornacek is COY, no doubt, but I have faith in Brown. Great X&O guy, and also places emphasis on fitness and effort (screwed White, Moultrie for a bit, and Orton, and why Davies is still on the roster). Mainly focuses on fast and efficient scoring, which is either driving to the paint, or shooting threes. Have little qualms about him, but I do want him to slow down a little bit so that the players can play some sort of D along with actually not backing off your man as much when it comes to the three point line. He'll be here for years.

Overall:
Even though we suck now and will for the next year, I do feel like the team is trending up. For the first time, I actually have faith in the management up there. Harris is willing to step back and let Sam do his thing. With both him and Brown at the helm, I do feel that Philadelphia basketball will be back on the upswing. Watching this will be way better than watching a sub 500 team being a first round exit.

I really want Jabari Parker. We could keep thad.

Starting Lineup

1. MCW
2. James Anderson/Tony Wroten/(via NO)
3. Thaddeus Young
4. Jabari Parker
5. Nerlens Noel

I think that could be a decent core going forward. And 2G's are probably the easiest thing to find deep talent at.

Highly doubt we keep Thad. Would honestly be surprised if he's on the roster by Opening Night. That and it'd only work if Thad and Jabari switch spots so that Thad's the 4. Jabari is what we need offensively, but defensively is a whole different issue. That and his low floor.

Also another random gripe I have with Brown, his idea to play Wroten as a 2 as the offball guard from MCW. Not going to work
