Posted: Mon Feb 06, 2006 5:27 pm Post subject: Well Run GM Mock Draft (Take Two) |
|
|
|
If you are a veteran poster, then you may remember weeing the Well Run Mock Draft last year. Well, it's back. I, along with scar988 and 2105 yards, will be moderating it.
Here is how it works:
There are 32 teams, and 32 GMs (and possibily co-owners). The GMs will be chosen by myself, scar988, and 2105 yards at somepoint soon. Following the announcement of the GMs, there will be a trading period of about a week or so, to allow time for trades and trade discussion, plus research for the draft.
-This is for serious members only. If you don't plan on finishing, don't sign up.
-The draft itself will take place in the Fantasy/GM/Sim Leagues forum, so that we can have multiple threads. This is ONLY a sign up sheet.
-There will be a trade veto council, for all of the trades that are agreed on between GMs. No crazy trades that way, so it stays more realistic.
-Each poster that does not get picked will have a chance to have a side job. Even those who do will be elgible for the side jobs. There are four side jobs- Assisting a GM, assisting to moderate, commentary (on trades, picks, and other things going on in this mock-essentially, you write about the mock), and helping the council.
Last year, the Well Run Mock Draft got 4 rounds done succesfully. Hopefully, this year, we will finish even more!
How to Sign Up
Post a reply with the following format and info:
ScreenName (on FF; for organization)
First team choice
Second team choice
Third team choice
Interest in a side job (4 side jobs- commentary, helping a GM, helping moderate, helping the council)
Example
I would post like this (assuming I was not a moderator for this):
JCool333
1)Dolphins (My favorite team)
2)Jets (I lived in NY and they are rivals, so I know them well)
3)Patriots (Division rivals so I know them well)
Interested in: commentary, helping GM.
Notice how I posted why I picked each team. Do that as that can only help me understand why we should pick you to represent that team.
Everyone has a chance to be picked, no matter how few posts you have.

Hey JCool, I'm not as much interested in being a main GM, but if needed would love to Co-GM for any of:
FF Name: TheDynasty004
Carolina: My favorite team and I know them very, very well.
Jacksonville: My second favorite team, I like how they are built on defense like Carolina, but still have a good offense.
New England: I grew up around the area and know my fair share about what New England needs.
Thanks if that can happen, either way I want to see how this plays out. Up to you. _________________ Dear Football Jesus,

2. Jaguars (Second favorite team, followed them since JDR got there.)
3. Titans (Third favorite team, followed them extensively the last two years.)
I am interested in being a GM, assisting a GM, helping moderate, or helping on the council. _________________

1. New York Jets - I live in Jersey, I'm a huge Jets fan, I almost never miss a game, and I'm one of the most if not the most active Jets fan currently on the forums.
2. New York Giants - Living in Jersey is a big perk, I know a decent bit about the Giants as a lot of my friends are G-Men fans. I'm probably not the best fit for GM here, but I can do my part for the Giants.
3. Arizona Cardinals - I love working with the Cardinals in GM Mocks because there is a lot to work with. I play with them a lot in Madden and I know a lot of their holes and I also really like J.J. Arrington so I follow what he does.
I'd be interested in either commentary (not sure exactly what you mean by this) or on helping the council. _________________

1. Buccaneers (Favorite team. Knowledgeable about the situation there. Been trying to stay active on the Buc front here but I get the feeling that my lack of a sig pic makes people overlook my advice/suggestions =p)
2. Any remaining: Saints/Falcons/Panthers in that order. I know the NFC South situation about as well as anyone. I feel I could accurately do any team with some research but the picks wouldn't come from the heart.
I'll take any jobs that need to get done as long as this thing doesn't die, and I have a feeling it won't. But in all honestly, I'd rather not do anything but GM |

1). Lions - Dad grew up in Detroit. They've been my favorite team for as long as I can remember.
2). Chiefs - I've always been a fan of Herm Edwards.
3). Chargers - A young team with a lot of talent, very interesting to draft for.
Interested in moderating, help with GM. |
