Yeah this is a team in rebuilding mode and the problem is Bradway doesn't like that idea.
Woody Johnson understands we need to rebuild even if he wants to do it as the model of frugality.
Like ekill said, what do you call it when you're franchise QB's better days are behind him, your Hall of Fame running back's best days are behind him, your #1 WR is the only starter on the entire offense with potential, and you have 1 offensive lineman who is in his prime and playing well. Under two years of Mangini you can expect...
New Starting QB
New Starting HB
New Starting FB (whether it is Askew or someone else)
New WR Core (McCareins probably won't last another year here, Cotchery has a lot of potential)
A new LT, LG, and C and potentially a new RT.
A switch to the 3-4 which would give us a need at both NT and one DE spot.
A need for a tweener if Abe leaves (Hobson or Barton should move to the inside so we can get an explosive Tweener).
Possibly two new starters at DB
I mean that is A LOT of turnover. We could see an entirely different Jets team in just 2 years. In fact, the most stable players on our roster are...
RG Brandon Moore
P Ben Graham
K Mike Nugent
Does that make anyone sleep soundly regarding the Jets? We have 3 players who are in their prime and/or have a long shelf life at their given position. Graham is 31, but signed an extension and can play well at punter for a long time even at that age. Those are the only 3 players that don't have question marks around them and many people here would argue that Nuge isn't stable at all.
Well let's look on the brightside, at least we'll have good special teams. _________________
