Abraham for Julian Peterson straight up- anyone like that because it would instantly change the jets into a 3-4?
both would be franchised and both would prob cost the same.
also another one to think about it abraham for charles woodson straight up.
anyone? |

Hmm...not sure if the other teams would go for that. The Raiders might do the Woodson deal but I wouldn't really be that thrilled with it. I think our corners now deserve a chance with or without Ty Law.
As for Peterson he'd be great at OLB, but he'd want a full deal when he gets here something we can't offer. _________________

| to many problems with petersons contract deal will mak this trade not happen. Peterson would be pretty unhappy being franchised or getting a 2 year deal. i think if he has to move hell move to a team that can give him a 5 year. |

If the Niners don't franchise him he's probably heading to Miami or Arizona.
If the Niners do franchise him they'll probably want a 1st round pick for him but I can't imagine them getting one when again you consider Edge and Alexander weren't worth 1st round picks. _________________

it would be nice to have peterson on our team which would help out the 3-4 but it probably wouldn't be that easy. Especially with Bradway as our manager. _________________

I'd rather not bring Peterson in because he'd demand a huge contract like Abe and also has somewhat of an injury history. How old is Peterson, I think arond 26 but not sure? Why not try and draft another LB because we'd have to have both MLB's Peterson and Vilma (when he comes up) with huge contracts. _________________ "The young heart attack, I spit that cardiac."

Exactly. We need to use our precious money for the offense. Our defense is pretty good at the moment. All we need is a run stuffing defensive tackle, unless we change to a 3-4.
If anyone should get a big contract this offseason, it should be an Offensive Lineman or Running Back. _________________

| Sign and trades don't really happen in the NFL, because of signing bonuses. |

pace signed a long term deal at the end of last year. and there is no way that the rams trade and franchise left tackle for an injury prone defensive end. |

| wait i'm against trading abe. Then people on this board say well its a salary cap issue we have to (which i dont agree with). So why are we discussing brining in any big contracts from any other teams??? Maybe someone can explain what im missing? thx |

dont get us wrong, i think we all love abraham. there is only 1 problem with him and a big contract, he is too much injury prone. do you remember his beast of a season the year before this one. he was playing for a big contract so he was unstopable, but towards the end, after he plaed amazing, he sat out for like 6 games where i think the jets went 2-4 or something like that or 3-3 and dont forget they ended up losing the playoff to steelers. (i cannot recall if he played)
too much injuries to deal with.
jets would give him a 2 year deal.
i think he said he wants like a 5 year deal. |

| the jets are rebuilding whether you like it or not.what they want for abraham are draft choices .the more they get the faster they will be in contention.the players you mentioned are trouble and will only cause disention. |

no BUDDY your wrong. when a team plans to cut players and trade stars because of the cap and because they went 4-12, thats exactly what rebuilding is. And we need a QB (stop saying pennington is the man, hes not, name one person in the leauge with a weaker arm). Rb DEF. OL - Def. 315+ pound DT. Though its not a huge hole, the WRs are average at absolute best. if they switch to 3-4 they neeed 1 more ILB. And they need depth at DB. Thats is just to be a competative football team again. HOw is that not rebuilding? |
