For me it's gotta be the Buffalo Bills of the early 90's. And you?

97' Packers

That's not a homer comment either, I thought they were one of the best teams I had ever seen play, and didn't get the job done.

I forget the year, but Jackie Smith, one of the most under-rated, greatest TEs of all time had spent his career with really icky Cardinals Teams. He gets traded to Dallas, makes it to the Super Bowl and....
DROPS THE GAME WINNING PASS!

I know it's not in the subject but I don't think I ever felt so sorry for any player in any sport. Well, Bill Buckner.

On the subject, have to go with the BiLLLLs.

I'd say the Oilers when they had Campbell, Moon, and those great WRs.

Otherwise, the Bears team the year after the won in the 80s. They should have won again.

Ooo...I'd probably put the '05-'06 Colts in the category as well.

The Dolphins with a young Dan Marino. If he could have one a Super Bowl, he probably would be considered the greatest QB of all time. But too bad. Laughing

Has to be the Bills.I dont think very many people realize how difficult it is or will ever be to get to 4 straight Super Bowls. The fact that they didnt win any doesnt take away from the fact that they were one of the best teams at that point of all time.I know they didnt win any,but they had a chance to win 4 straight.Just say that again to yourself.4 STRAIGHT Super Bowls.Just amazing to me.

I agree with the two other guys who said the early 1990 Buffalo Bills.

FOUR straight Super Bowls. Think hard about that. New England made it to three out of four, which is unreal. Granted, Buffalo lost all four, but the damn kicker cost them their first one. The only difference there was Scott Norwood was a choke while Adam Vinitieri turned out to be clutch.

Jim Kelly. Thurman Thomas. Andre Reed. James Lofton. Don Beebe. Bruce Smith. Cornelius Bennett.

I agree the 97-98 Packers are close as well. That game still hurts because the Broncos STILL haven't stopped Dorsey Levens. Replay that game and tell me why we passed so much. And worse, why did the deffense act as if they were trying to stop the Run-n-Shoot passing offense of the 80's Oilers or the Air Coryell Chargers? Nobody had heard of Terrell Davis yet in Green Bay?

Shanahan outcoached Homgren in that game, pure and simple. It happens.

i dont even wanna bring this up but i feel like that team deserves the credit...the 2003 Packers. They lost to the eagles on a 4th and i cant say the rest....they would have advanced to play the Panthers who they beat up in the regular season. Then to the superbowl to play the pats, who knows. The panthers only lost by 3.

I wouldn't say this team because you could tell that that season was the beginning of our fall. The defense was just showing so many signs of weakness. I mean when we let someone complete a 4th and 26 there's gotta be something wrong.
