Ok seriously, this is a must win game for the Steelers provided Baltimore takes care of business (in their interest) against Cincy this weekend. The thing that draws most of our concerns is that we don't put teams away that we "should" very easily. Cleveland is one of those teams that if you let them hang around they can hurt you.
Assuming we take care of business in convincing fashion, the starters should be wearing ball caps by the start of the 4th quarter at the latest.
Awww, yinz thought I would forget didn't you?

Well the Browns couldn't take care of Baltimore last week, so I think its only fair that we clinch by whooping the Brownies.
Lets hope the Steelers can build up a large enough lead to rest some players in the second half _________________

i thought we all agreed hayden was our OFFICIAL hottie EVERY game?
good job though on the GDT!
i also wonder what they plan on doing with troy? against the browns it shouldn't matter, but our other DB's are so bad, colt could look all-pro out there, but it would be nice to rest troy, even if he is just about ready to come back. i only worry that if we win, all this time off doesn't make him rusty for the first play off game.
just like every other game, we need to apply pressure and get into colts head, to not let them short pass it all the way down the field. i sound like a broken record every week.
the Oline needs to step up(lol) early to give mendy some running room. we will be able to pass, but the browns got a pretty good backfield, so getting mendy started, to open things up is key.
i don't expect a big enough lead to rest our starters, but if that was the case, then we should do it.
lets just hope for a W and no serious injury! and also after the W and bye week, A.smith can make it back(how great would it be to have a fresh smith in our rotation for the first play off game!). |

I went to catholic school and none of the nuns ever looked like that... I hope we blow them out early and sit players in the fourth quarter as well. Here we go Steelers Here we Go! _________________

Shes not chubby enough for Ben's taste
We should be able to win this game, but after last year I have trouble ruling out any game. Hopefully we don't lay an egg this week. |

Sorry about the lack of words in the OP, was getting kicked off the computer my girlfriend's "farmville" crackhead daughter...I need a younger gf.
Anyways, thought pictures would be my "saving grace" as it were.
The thing that concerns me most about this game is the Special Teams play. The coverage units have looked suspect the last few weeks and while Cribbs isn't lighting up the league, he's still dangerous. Kapinos hasn't really impressed me thus far, his leg strength in particular.
The thing that I'm really looking for this game is for the defense to shut down this offense. The Browns have done a good job this year catching defenses off guard with gadget plays and I hope the "D" is disciplined enough to recognize them. Stopping Hillis will be key to this game. Bell doesn't scare me much, but Hillis is a grind it out type back and he runs hard every play. He will put the ball on the turf though. _________________

I don't think he will. From what I recall, he could have played against Carolina. They're saving him for the playoffs. _________________

Last week against the Ravens the Browns scored their only TD on a pass by Massaquoi and attempted an onside kick to open the second half. I think they might try some more trickery in this game as well. Earlier in the year they had a terrific fake punt for a long gain by their punter against the Saints.
Cribbs is always a threat to score on a return especially against the Steelers. Hillis is banged up so I don't know how productive he will be.
The Steelers can't show up like they did last year and expect to win. Maybe last year's game was a blessing in disguise and they learned that they need to be ready right from the opening kickoff. They really need to stay focus and take it to the Browns from the get go. Don't let them stay in the game and think they have a shot at winning like they did against the Bills. Got to get that bye week. _________________

Not sure how, But McCoy had a field day in the 1st game this year. Put the pressure on him early. _________________

Ok, just got back home. I don't see why this shouldn't serve as a perfectly adequate Game Day Thread.
I hate to be a downer, but I really took offense from the nun picture... I have close friends who are entering the sisterhood and I'm kind of easily irked by images that show people who have devoted themselves to any faith being belittled like that. _________________
