Casey's stock isn't very high, probably a mid round pick at best, but Smith has a chance to fight to be the first OT off the board. _________________

Probably a good move by Tyron Smith since this is such a weak O-Line class. Really could shoot up some boards if he adds some weight. _________________

Smith is the top OT in this class. Good decision. _________________ IN THE BAY AREA WE SMOKE PHILLIES |

It's a smart move for Smith. And it's a case of where USC not being bowl eligible is doing him a slight favor. While all the other prospect (or most of the top ones at least) are prepping for one more bowl game and still have the potential for a (God forbid!) serious injury that could occur during competitive play, he can already begin training for the NFL Combine and the draft. He's literally going to have almost a 30 day head-start on most of the competition.
If he can impress at the combine, I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see him become a Top 10 viable candidate simply based off of him playing a premium position (and being potentially the best player in the draft available at that position). _________________

Can someone give me a breakdown on Smith? I've heard he is incredibly athletic, but what are his other strengths and weaknesses? _________________

His best fit is in a ZBS. He needs to gain more weight (He's only 280 pounds and he looks like a WR),hit the weight room, and improve his hand placement, which is coachable. He's great in pass pro and is alright as a run blocker right now. IMO he reminds me of D達rickashaw Ferguson |

Smith is really underrated, he is very athletic and would be a perfect fit for a ZBS. _________________ RIP #21 Sean Taylor

If Smith was a LT he would be a top 10 pick. I think he could play LT in the NFL just because he is so athletic. I thought he would stay another year but he should be a great pickup for any team whos willing to wait a year for him to hit the weight room. _________________ Go Pack Go... |

Tyron Smith is actually dominant at the collegiate level. Campbell's problem was that he really wasn't good as he was supposed to be in college.
I believe that picture was taken his sophomore year, btw, so he's a bit bigger now too. _________________ IN THE BAY AREA WE SMOKE PHILLIES |

He played LT for USC his sophomore year I believe, and did well. I really don't why they switched him over to RT this year, but he's been outright dominant. He has LT feet and the athleticism, and with another 15 lbs. or so he'll have LT size.
If he stayed at LT this year I think more people would be talking about him as a legitimate top 15 or 10 pick. _________________ IN THE BAY AREA WE SMOKE PHILLIES |
