| What would you guys think if we traded Scaub to Dallas for thier first? Then we could draft Jimmy Williams to play safety with the 15th pick, and then get Tye Hill to play CB at 18. This would give us possibly 3 future pro-bowlers in the secondary. |

I definately wouldn't complain aboiut it. Williams woudl be a great SS for us and Hill is like a poor man's DeAngelo HAll andh im being 5'10" with his vertical only about 2 inches less than HAll makes him the best guy to be across from HAll that we coudl fins. we woudl get a guy like PAt watkins in the 3rd or Bullocks in the 4th to learn under soem one for a year or 2 then become our FS. _________________

I think if we got dallas' pick then we should take Williams and Bing/simpson. Both of our safeties suck, we got 1 probowl CB and 1 descent 1 and don't forget about cash and rossum. actually do forget about rossum, he sucks at CB, he's only good for KR/PR _________________

I was thinking if we get hill in the first we could get Colledge in the 2nd(might have to trade up to get him, but Im crossing my fingers) then we could get Watkins or Bullocks in the 3rd. That would sure up our secondary.
This is what it would look like:
FS: Bullocks
SS: Williams
CB: Hill
CB: Hall |

I agree on bullocks in the third but we could also get Jason Allen in 3rd I think. Watkins is overrated. But what your secondary looks like is good stuff I think. Bullocks good, I don't know much about Hill but Ive heard hes good and Jimmy williams as we all know is excellent. _________________

Watkins really isn't overrated at all. He has great coverage skills, has a great ability to grab int's at their peak, is a quality tackler, isn't afraid to play physical, and has very good size & speed for a Safety. I have Watkins as the 3rd best Safety of this draft on my board, and he would give us a rangy centerfielder who is willing & able in run support.
I would love for us to et Jimmy Williams, but I think we need to seriously consider getting an OT in the 1st or 2nd if we get another pick. _________________

I'm not sold on Hali or Kiwanuka to solve our problems at DE. I would rather get Ray Edwards in the 2nd round and pull on of those big Tackles in the first like John Scott or Winston Justice if we have an extra 1st rounder. I have my current mock set up as follows:
1) Jimmy Williams - no doubt about this one.
2) Ray Edwards - a bit of a reach possibly, but he would be worth reaching for.
3) Johnathan Joseph - if he runs a 4.3- then he may not be here.
4) Mark Setterstrom - He will be here most likely.
5) Marcus Maxey - good size & speed could make for a real steal here.
6) Rashad Butler - might be gone here.
7) Nate Salley - drops a lot due to the depth at Safety
If we have an extra 1st I would take John Scott, Marcus McNeil, Winston Justice or Eric Winston. _________________

and to incomparables mock, I agree with everything 100% except for setterstrom in 4th. Take Fred Matua from USC.[/quote] _________________

So are you projecting that Williams is going to play corner? |

if we do get another first rounder, i'd rather supplement our safety pick (Ko or J-Will) with cromartie than with hill.
yes, scar, i know that we prefer small CBs, but...
We might prefer quick and fluid 5'10" CBs to the lumbering 6'3" guy, but that Cromartie ain't. Cromartie has all the speed and fluidity of a smaller CB, he just has an extra 5 inches on Hill. there's no loss, and all gain.
(also, hill got totally burned by s-moss at the senior bowl).
alternatively, we could pick up williams with the 15th, then try to trade the 18th (or whatever) for a low first and second.
then pick up colledge at end of 1st (he won't fall further than that, i fear), edwards with our second, and then the best CB available at the end of the second: someone like marshall, minter, joseph, all depending on the combine etc. _________________

as great as they are, starting both rookies in the safety tandem would be very risky. experience is vital in the secondary. (and ko has only played two years of college ball, remember).
i'd expect us to sign a veteran SS in free agency, then add one of Ko or J-Will to him, and maybe pick up Watkins/Bullocks as a project in the 3rd. _________________

| I dont like the idea of starting KO in his rookie season, especially since he only played 2 years of college ball. |
