I don't see it happening, but I wouldn't mind giving up a 1st considering it's a late 1st and the draft class is fairly mediocre _________________

If we had interest in LaRoche, will we have interest in Morse? I think he would be a great addition to the team. Apparently we were aggressively pursuing Justin Upton until the deal fell apart, so the front office is definitely trying to get a big bat in our line up. _________________

I hope so...
From the sound of it, Baltimore is shooting down deals that are asking for "young pitching."
I bet teams are coveting Bundy and The Gaus. _________________ Don't be afraid to turn the lights on...

Orioles have agreed to terms with Jair Jurrjens.

OH reporting it was a 1-yr 1.5 million dollar deal. Solid signing if he's healed correctly. High risk, high reward type of deal. _________________

I see no high risk involved. Maybe you meant low risk/high reward _________________

Nah, I meant high risk. I think this undoubtedly takes Saunders off the table. And Saunders was ice cold during his brief Oriole tenure. Would've liked to re-sign him. When the Braves let you walk, I get suspicious. _________________

Considering it's only $1.5 million without the incentives and that the Orioles have a lot of options for the rotation, I don't consider it high risk even with the risk of losing Saunders. Hammel, Chen, Gonzalez, Tillman, Bundy, Britton, and Matusz and Arrieta to a certain extent make Saunders expendable considering the money he wants. Not to mention Gausman should be ready soon _________________

Hell Saunders still could resign, but it's unlikely now _________________

I think Jurrjens is a great signing. Hopefully his velocity is still in the 90s
because his command isn't good enough to compensate for a lack thereof.
I really wanted Joe Saunders back, but I guess this signing means he is off our radar. _________________

Me too. Love the signing. Especially since it didn't involve my man Jeezy. [Adam Jones]

So what is everyone's prediction for our 5th spot in the rotation?
I was hoping Jurrjens could step up and fill that void, but now that his knee is still a problem, it is looking like someone else will have to be plugged in.
I like Steve Johnson. _________________

Steve Johnson is a good call.
It'd be nice if Jurrjens can regain health and be that 5th starter, but I believe in Steve Johnson earning that spot over Jair. _________________ Don't be afraid to turn the lights on...
