Vokoun will indeed start in Game 5 according Bylsma. There really was no other choice than to make that move.

Totally agree! I love Fleury but his head is not right! He is letting in way too many soft goals. If he could have only kept that Game 1 form!

I really thought we were going to see the MAF of the Cup appearances after that shutout. Unfortunately the MAF of last year's playoffs showed up instead. At least this season they have the option of going with Vokoun and not with Johnson.

Vokoun with a shutout and Kennedy with the GW. Byslma made the neccessary changes for this game and it paid off perfectly.

I agree. Some of those savesVokun cane up with were right on time. Kennedy played solid all game. And Sids goal was highlight reel and really pumped up the crowd.

The team played with heart last night!

I hope we take this momentum and heart back to New York.

No doubt in my mind, series ends in game 6! Vokoun was lights out last night and frankly, so was everyone for the Penguins, they ripped through the Islanders.

The Pens seemed to play with a lot of confidence from period 2 on wards. Like they didn't feel like they had to do to much and over think things. I love MaF but he's not playing well.

It will be interesting to see what happens if the Pens win game 6 with Koun. Especially if he only allows 0-2 goals.

Truth be told as much as I love the Pens, I don't watch nearly enough hockey to know the answer to this..

WHY is Vokoun not the every game starting Goalie? I mean seriously, we've all said it, every time they get to the playoffs, MAF truly does look like Marc Andre-Fail and not Fluery.

Fluery is the better talent, but Vokoun seems to be the more confidant and consistent goalie right now. For some reason Fluery has some confidence issues in the play-offs. Fluery was lights out game one and then kind of mentally imploded. He was visibly rattled game 5 and seemed to lose his confidence.

The great thing about play-off hockey is that if you get a hot goalie, you can go all the way. Hopefully Vokoun is that guy. However, I do think Fluery will be needed later if the Pens are to go all the way. Hopefully they can end the series tonight.

Pittsburgh is lucky to be tied 2-2 going into the 3rd.

Islanders are out playing the Pens really bad.

Tru dat. That 1st period was ugly. But the PK played strong and it seems like we are finally getting some steam behind us.

Islanders have some good fans. They've stuck with that team through thick and thin.

On to the next series.

I am happy with the win and the move to the 2nd round but... the Pens can't play like that moving forward. The Islanders did play out of their minds in this series.

So, Vokoun starter for g1 of Sens series? I'd say so.

Yes, keep riding the hot hand even if the Sens play a different style than NY. They can always go back to MAF. Maybe watching the bench helped him mentally but until then they should just stick with Vokoun who was the reason why they went into OT in the first place. He came up big once again.

A lot of credit should go to the Islanders especially after that game 1 blowout. They played well. The Pens need to play way better than what they showed in that series. We all know they can they just have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.

Any thoughts on what the Pens could do with Fleury in the future should they ride Vokoun to the cup, or even if they lose and Vokoun plays well?

They surly can't keep him as a reg season only goalie...

stillersenat with the trolling of the title edit... I had something epic in mind.

Orpik has sucked since we won the Cup... then suddenly is amazing in this series? Okay. Laughing

TFK was also amazing. I can't believe how much of a difference maker he was.

On to Ottawa!! I hope they're too obsessed with hurting Matt Cooke to even pay attention to winning the series.
