Holy crap! Shocked

The Penguins acquire RW Jarome Iginla from Calgary for RW Ben Hanowski, LW Kenny Agostino, and a first round pick.

During the whole night it was assumed that a deal with the Bruins was basically done. In fact numerous media outlets reported it as much. Then in a stunning turn of events it's the Pens who land him. Dancing Dancing

WOW!!! They better win it all again!

Anything less than the Cup will be unacceptable. It will be like '92-'93 when they were gunning for their third straight Cup and had their most talented team ever only to be shocked by the Islanders in the second round. They are definitely the favorites with all these moves, even the most hated Penguin basher can see that, but anything can happen. I'm trying to be grounded but it's pretty exciting to see what has transpired the past few days regarding this team. Incredible.

Haha love the NHL 13 Iginla pic.

I was upset over the J.Morrow trade, loved getting B.Morrow here but not at the price we paid... Well now idc. Overall package of trades is totally in our favor even if he's a rental.

Morrow, Agostino, Hanowski, a late 1st, a late 2nd, a late 5th and a conditional 2nd or 3rd for Iginla, Morrow, Murray and an early 3rd...

Wow Shero is a damn genius. I'm pumped to see this entire roster play together healthy and build some chemistry in the next month. Not sure how lines are going to fill out for now but this is my guess...

Kunitz - Crosby - Iginla
Neal - Malkin - Morrow
Bennett - Sutter - Dupuis
Cooke - Vitale - Adams

Letang - Niskanen
Orpik - Martin
Despres - Murray

Fleury

Bench........

Glass - Jeffrey - Kennedy

Eaton - Engelland - Bortuzzo

Vokoun

With the expanded rosters coming the 3rd, we have a some really good bench depth in case of injuries

Just checked games... Both on Root. I'm hoping NHL network shows the Saturday game here in Boston. That will most likely be Iginlas first game as a Pen.

Iginla is scheduled to have a presser at 10:30am in Calgary tomorrow to say his goodbyes

Too bad. Seems like the only games I can get here are on NBC or NBC Sports Net.

@JD damn hopefully they pick up the Saturday game. I'm sure a lot of out of market areas will want to see Iginla and it's a good matchup with Rangers

They seem to be pushing real hard for the cup. Love the trades Shero made. Something deep inside says that he is not done. I believe he may have one or two minor trades left in him.

I agree with the lines above, but would put Cooke back on the 3rd line. Other option IMO is:

Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Neal-Malkin-Iginla
Cooke-Sutter-Morrow
Bennett-Vitale-Adams

How much does Iggy have left? He used to be a top player, but that was quite a while ago.

That's with all 3 players the Pens pick up. All one year rentals! I will claim to know much about hockey other then probably a basic overview. But this looks to me like a 1 yr cup yr, but what's this doing for future cups?
