Tanner Glass. 4th liner. Big hitter, good skater (surprising speed) and great defensively. Thrives on playing the PK. Can't shoot worth a damn though.
Best part is his leadership. If someone lays a finger on Sid while he's on the ice, he's likely to rip someone's head off.
Otherwise, we signed a couple no-namers.
Word is Parise will announce tomorrow afternoon who he is signing with. Once he does, Suter will follow. Pittsburgh is suposedly in the lead for Parise. |
Glass was in the top 10 in hits last season. Real nice replacement for Asham who couldn't stay healthy. Glass has played in 70+ games the past two season. For $1.1 million per two seasons it's a nice pickup for that fourth line. _________________

IMO Asham reminds me of Kemoeatu. Funny how we didn't resign them in the same year. Both guys take unnecessary penalties and try to act like the tough guy out there. |

Nice way to start the abbreviated season with a 3-1 victory at Philly. _________________

Bylsma looked msart as hell early rolling with heavy hitters on various line shifts.
Not so much in the 2nd and 3rd as the Flyers pressured a lot on Fleury. We eeked out the win, and that's nothing to sniff at, particularly on the road.... but I'd like to see a team this skilled and this fast play to close teams out early. _________________ DIAF |

Rangers tonight... curious to see how we can handle the line of Gaborik - Richards - Nash. That's easily the scariest offensive line in the NHL, by far. _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

Apparently rumors have been still going around about the Penguins trying to make a deal for Phil Kessel... Where would we possibly get the money for Kessel? _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

I have no idea how they can even think abut bringing Kessel in. From what I've been reading they are trying to lock up Malikn and Letang to long term deals. So I would not know how they would have cap space for Kessel.
I hope they sign their own 1st before bringing in more high priced players. _________________

Those are the important issues right now as far as contracts go. Get those guys handled first. I didn't know about the Kessel rumors. I could see them trading for a rental at the trade deadline like Jarome Iginla for the stretch run and the playoffs though. Then possibly signing him to a team friendly deal after the season depedning on what the cap is. I don't know how high the cap will go up with the new CBA. _________________
