Welcome Bruce!
As a heads up, your avatar is much too large. The maximum size is 80x80, so you will have to remove your current image (or resize it to fit the maximum). I would do this ASAP as if you lose your avatar privileges you cannot get them back. _________________

No worries. I'm here to help. If you'd like an avatar made for you that fits the site, let me know. I have those capabilities.
And Forge, it wasn't brought to my attention that this was the case until long after a few had lost their privileges, so even as the mod - I was unaware for a while. Now, it's just a precautionary thing I try to let anyone know. _________________

Hi guys,
It's many years since I posted on here but I've been lurking and watching as Trent and Jed decimate the roster. Anyway I am especially excited for this season because I am coming to see my first game this December (Jets). I've seen the niners at Wembley Stadium a couple of times but this will be my first trip to a game in the US.
I'm coming with a mate (a Seahawks fan unfortunately). We've already got tickets but I wondered if any of you had some advice on creating the perfect game day experience. Should we book a museum tour? What about the tailgating? We are flying from San Jose to Vancouver on the Monday and then heading down to Seattle to watch Seahawks/Rams on Thursday night. I can't wait for the trip. I'm expecting Kap to be starting by then, other than that any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

I was at the game against the Broncos at Wembley, it was... dare I say, fun? I don't know. It was... watchable? It was... Troy Smith's first start... wow, memories. Welcome to the board. I'll let others answer your questions, since I'm nowhere near california. _________________

Had it been an away game against the Jets, I could help you out, but like Rudy I'll have to let others answer your questions. That said - welcome to the board 6 years later! (lol). Hope to see you stick around and join in all the Baalke-hating fun we have here. _________________

Forge wrote: | What Brought You to FF: Was searching for Mock drafts, stayed because of the 49er forum
Favorite Current NFL Player(s): Don't really have one. I stopped being a fan on individual players a long time ago.
Favorite NFL Player(s) of All-Time: I'm a child of the 80's, has to be Joe.
Most Memorable NFL Moment: The catch II (and the Jerry Rice fumble lol), The Catch III, the botched field goal at the end of the Giants/49ers playoff game, the 40-8 loss to the Eagles the last year we won the super bowl. *** the super bowl loss to the Ravens
Other Favorite Sport Teams: San Francisco Giants, New Jersey Devils, Ohio State Buckeyes
Favorite Players from Other Sports: I was a big Marty Brodeur fan in hockey, but he recently retired. He may have been the last of my "favorite players" across most sports.
Hobbies: I'm a poker junkie. Seriously, it's bad. I still am a big video game player - mainly single player rpgs and jrpgs. Scouting the NFL draft
Favorite Movie(s): Far too hard of a question to answer. You'd have to break it up by genre, then subsets in each genre..that could take a while. Love 80's comedies like Real Genius, almost every disney and pixar flick (Wall-e!), Rounders.
Favorite TV Show(s): Updated: A whole lot of anime, iZombie, the 100, Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley.
Favorite Actor(s) and Actress(es): None really. There are no actors that I would go see a flick for, but there are some actors that I have noticed I enjoy most of their movies.
Favorite Artist(s): Oasis is one of my all time favorites; A Day to Remember, Sleeping with Sirens, Valencia, TrustCompany, Hands like Houses, Hit the Lights...a ton more. My music collection is vast. Several thousand CD's and multiple terabyte drives filled.
Favorite Song(s): Of all time? Yesterday by the Beatles, Imagine by Lennon, Paint it Black by the Stones, Let it Be by the Beatles, . In the last few years? Don't look back in anger by oasis, These backs were made for stabbing by Hit the Lights, The Masterplan by Oasis, The science of selling yourself short by Less than jake, it just goes on and on.
Favorite Book(s): The song of ice and fire series which everyone knows as Game of Thrones (been reading since 1998...he's wearing my patience thin), The Gentleman Bastard Sequence by Scott Lynch (sadly they are getting worse with each new novel; the first was fantastic though), and The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss. I'm also a huge fan of non-fiction books regarding history; particularly the war of the roses, the tudor dynasty, etc.
Favorite Author(s): George RR Martin, Scott Lynch, David Gemmell.
Any Other Information: I'm awesome. True Story
**edited because like 4 years later, the original post seemed so outdated lol *** UPdated an additional year later ** |
So I figured it would be cool to do something like a 5 year update (almost 6 years) on things that have happened since I've been a fairly active member of this community / forum. I'd previously been adding "favorites" to the older post, but I figured now that most people know me at least some degree, I'd add some personal information.
Most people on the 49er forum know me, as I have been around a while, been a consistent member of the FFMD, have a lot to say regarding drafts, and am usually somewhat active in the game day threads when I am able to watch the games. I've even won a Y2 award!!!! I'm also somewhat active in the other forums. I'm a big participant in the baseball forum, and you can see me littering the Giants thread quite a bit. There's not as many people in there, so it pretty much seems to be an ongoing conversation between myself and about 2 other people I also hang around NFL Gen (sometimes it's scary), News, Comparisons, Draft and the entertainment and this ain't sports talk forum.
When I first started here, I was 28 and living in Cincinnati. Since then, I have gotten old. I moved to Las Vegas a little over 3 years ago because I like to gamble, was single and figured why not. It's been fun. It helped that my career got a fortuitous opportunity from an office in Las Vegas that made the transition easier. I've been working as a mortgage underwriter for the last 5/6 years or so, which is a job I really like because I, 1) work from home, 2) do nothing but sit around and listen to music all day which is basically what keeps me sane as I can't live without my music.
I recently had my first child with my girlfriend. Little boy named Lennon. So that's also fairly new. Basically sucked up any social life I used to have though That being said, I'm still awesome as I indicated in my initial post.
So just some highlights over the past few years since I have been an active member of the community. _________________
