Well this kinda sucks. I've enjoyed the Sunday package as a first time customer for free, but I was hoping the NFL really went with more of a diverse route with their market/sport, being the best in America right now.

Don't mind it as long as they improve their streaming part of it. As of right now it has a huge delay which really sucks when trying to discuss the game on FF.

This is great news. DirecTV is head and shoulders above their competition in just about every way.

The delay is very small for what they have to do. There's really no way to make it any smaller.

Personally, I wish they would stop these exclusive contracts altogether. No competition means high prices. I'm on my free year(first time DirectTV customer) and am loving it, but I'm not sure I'm going to have the money next year.

Doesn't make any sense. Why are illegal streams right on? Why is MLB.TV able to give live streams with no delay?

Any time you use a satellite, there will be a delay. It's unavoidable. If you've ever tried to play Call of Duty over a satellite internet connection, you know what I'm talking about. It's simply not as fast as a hard line connection. Add in the overhead for the conversion process, and yes, it's behind a little bit. It's not that big of a gap, though, in my opinion.

As for "illegal streams:"

1. I've never seen one that was "right on."

2. It takes less time for some of these because they're a hard line connection. There is still a delay, though. Especially when the source is via satellite to begin with(most are, in my experience).

I had Sunday Ticket last year through my PS3. Can't get that anymore because of the contract with XBox. Fracking annoying.

I just really hope Amazon and Madden team up for the deal in 2014 like they did for 2013. Paying $100 for the game on PS3 and getting Sunday Ticket on my laptop/PC has been a great deal, which has been well worth the price.

I can't get DirecTv at my apartment building, so this was the only option (as I too used the PS3 service in 2012, which wasn't available this year, like fretgod mentioned). The fact that DirecTv has a monopoly on the market sucks for those who can't get DirecTv.

MLB has a slight delay too. The NFL streams are only a few seconds behind. What kind of delays are you thinking there are? I have Sunday Ticket, and it wound up being 6-10 seconds between what was on TV, and what was on my iPad. All TV has a 2 sec delay for anything live. Getting that short of a delay is pretty amazing considering what they do to get it around the country.

You used to be able to order the streaming service if DTV wasn't available in your area. Ir would be worth looking into if Madden doesn't do it again.

Like others have said the whole "licensed monopoly" concept is awful.

All it means is that they are allowed (rewarded actually) to deliver a sub par product yet still demand top dollar.

It could and would be much better with other providers.
