Wow. This is shaping up to be one hell of a coaching staff. I'm very impressed with this hire.

Thoughts? Comments?

I would say that we have the second best coordinator group (maybe also behind the Bengals, Steelers, or a few others though). We do have the best group of assitants, IMO. But, as of now, Belicheck, Cowher, Fox, and others are still ahead of Saban.

We do have one of the best all around staffs, espescially on offense- Mularkey, Garrett, Baggett, and Houck. And on D, we are also great with Saban, Capers, and we can't forget Muschamp, Smith (if he stays), Mel Phillips, and Keith Armstrong. We have a great QB, WR, OL, DB, ST,OC, DC, and Richard Smith/Will Muschamp (assuming both stay). Truly an amazing staff.

Dont forget the 45-50 unnamed assistants. I think we have 1 coach per player Smile

I like the signing, he is a great 3-4 DC and will be great in miami.
I liked how the other two did last year but let them concentrate on their own things and let Capers run the show. We should do fine.

I love the signing and think we probably have one of the top 3 coaching staffs in the NFL (from Saban to Capers to Mularkey all the way down to the guys we dont even hear about) But i wonder.......

Will 3 head Coaches on 1 staff be a power struggle for the 2 that are now assistants? Hmmmmmm......

Another great signing by Nick Saban. Dom Capers will do great in Miami. What a start to the offseason! Mike Mularkey and Dom Capers.

With this though, it wouldn't surprise me to see us bring in Dashon Polk. I also, tahnks to the Mularkey addtion, wouldn't be surprised if we went after Antwaan Randle-El (I don't think he's been resigned yet...)

I am so excited at the direction we are heading. We now have an allstar coaching staff and anyone who knows NFL football knows that coaching is the most important aspect of a team, just look at what two teams are going to be playing in Detroit, coached by two of the best in the game.

We now must reconsider who we will draft in the 1st and 2nd. Will Capers and Mularkey be fighting over the selection?? Now we are fully comitted to the 3-4 will we target Carpenter in the 1st?? I bet that is what Capers is voting for.

Great pick up.

I also think if Cutler isnt available, but he mite be with the way he performed today, we will go Greenway, Lawson, or Carpenter.

the only thing that scares me is that seau is getting too old and zack tomas don't really have the speed to do a 3-4 defense i think we should cut seau and make more space on are salary cap and in the free agency we would have more cap to sign more people.

As a Texans fan, ya'll are getting one of the great men in the NFL. I did think he needed to be fired, but Dom Capers is one of those guys that everyone hopes will succeed. He handles himself with class in every way and is a brilliant defensive coach. I think it was personnel conflicts with Charlie Casserly and that lead to the Texans sucking so bad - not really Capers' fault. Nice hire.
