Is Russell experiment over?
We've upgraded our QB spot with Jason Campbell, who is a talented, young, hard working, high character guy. Key word here is young. We've also signed him to a pricey extension, I think it was 11 mil for 1 year. Will Al pay both QBs that much money or does he (finally) cut bait with Russell?

The extension was 4.5 mil for another year.
Jamarcus.. Probably the end unless he really shows something different through camp. My bet is he has until whenever it is that we're on the hook for his salary this year. I think that's week 1 like most players.
If he shows up at camp fat and lazy again, and we can bet on it, then it's the end. I guess this puts to rest the notion that he's been losing weight and turning it around in OTAs, which I never believed anyway.
Can't wait till that fat jackass is poor again. |

| I hope we keep him. He'll be cheap this year and he's still young enough to mature a bit more and realize what a once in a life time chance he has that he doesn't [inappropriate/removed] it away on fur coats and diamond ear rings. Also hopefully being part of a semi decent franchise which is what we are looking like now will help push him on as well. |

Me too! That would make my weekend. Let's just wipe him from our collective memories and in a couple years we can all reminisce when his name shows up on a "where are they now" biggest busts of the draft article.
I have to believe it would bring up the moral of the entire team. Nobody likes to head back to the sidelines after busting their humps in a game to see a fat bust of a QB soaking up millions while keeping the bench from blowing away in a stiff Bay breeze. |

Ahh, it's probably Russell that's making 11 mil next year. Had TV on in the living room while I was posting in my office and I just misheard.
Still, I can't see Russell collecting that cash, I'm sooooooo happy I'm getting close to dropping my sig. (just wish I hadn't had to make it in the first place) _________________ Nuke's Thread Archive |

I think Campbell and Grad, then whoever wins out between Boller and Frye. JR is the fat man out. I mean odd man out. |

He's staying. Competition should bring the best out of players. Gradkowski wasnt gonna beat Russell in TC. Russell's talent alone would of won the job. Now, he has to really work to stay on the team. Should be interesting TC.
Frye Boller Losman and Gradkowski jobs are on the line |

| Cheap? Hes due to make 9.45 million this year. He already said he wont restructure. If we cut him he is only guaranteed to make 3 million. He needs to go. It makes no sense to keep him, he has lost this team and is no good. Campbell was brought in to be the starter and we cant have a back up making 10 million. |

No way Russell is on the roster when the season starts
Campbell is making 4 mil I think this year
Bruce 2 mil plus
Russell would make 9 mil
Raiders can save 6 mil if they cut Russell |

Frye Boller Losman and Gradkowski jobs are on the line | Other than throwing the ball far, what talents does he possess? _________________ Nuke's Thread Archive |
