Team Needs

can you please give me a list of team needs in order of most important so i can make a good mock draft thanks

This is how I would rank the Lions team needs.

1. Safety (SS)
2a. OG
2b. OT (Dependent upon Stocker)
3. TE
4. DE (Speed rusher)
5. WR
6. OL Depth
7. DL Depth

thats pretty much the way I see it, but I would add a QB in there around 3-5, depending on who is available. Again, its hard to say until after FA.

If you're making a mock draft PLEASE do not give us Heath Miller or Thomas Davis as our 1st round selection. Neither of those will happen. #1 Neither Miller nor Davis is worth #10 overall. #2 TE is not THAT big of a need for us. #3 I see us trading down in the draft.

If you're making a mock draft and you want to please me make it look like this.

1st round (trade with someone between 20 and 32 for another 2nd rounder)- If it's early in that time slot (20-25) then Channing Crowder MLB Florida. If it's Later than David Baas OG Michigan.
2nd Round (first 2nd rounder)- Earnest Shazor
2nd 2nd Round (depending on what we do with the first)- If we picked up Channing Crowder in the first then an OG. If David Baas then look at a guy like Kirk Morrison MLB.

It still amazes me how anyone can say Davis isn't 'worth' the 10th pick in the draft.

I've said it before I'll say it again 10-22 is roughly even talent wise, you've left the sure fire STUD lvl by pick 10. They are all great college players wtih talent to succeed in the nfl but no sure fire thing.

TD is as good as any of those guys and fills the biggest weakness on the team.

TD is a fine pick at 10.

Even if the lions pass on him, he's 'worth' the 10th pick.

Yes i agree on trading down but not to pick up a linebacker in channing crowder. in case you dont know Earl holmes Teddy Lehman and Boss Bailey so what we do with crowder.

I can see getting a guy to later replace holmes cuz he is getting old but in the secong round not the first.[/quote]

I'd actually put the needs in this order

1) Center - We don't have anyone under contract at the position for next season. So it's the obvious #1 need.

2) Strong Safety - The Walkers... AHHH! Brian will be cut and Bracy a UFA. Possibly no one under contract next year.

3) Right Tackle - Kelly Butler is ready to start? I think not!

4) Left Guard - David Loverne was sporadic, at best.

5) Tight End - Fitzsimmons isn't a good enough blocker to play every down.

6) Defensive End - Next season, everyone but James Hall becomes a free agent. Not good.

7) Inside Linebacker - Holmes' deal is up next season, and there is no one behind him.

Cool

Defensive Tackle - Re-signing Bell is needed. Wilkinson is old and not as effective.
