Thanks for the insight c0insnap i seem to agree with Ferrell he is a gamer find a spot for him somewhere.

I love this recruting class already 7 sold verbal commits all of these guys are going to be good players. I know a few people think that the Adam Homan offer came a little early but the kid is a football player will work his tail off to do whatever the buckeyes need him to do.

But the must get for this class is at RB and I wish we were being more agreesive in this area. The two kids from florida Miller an absolute stud and ive seen film of Hyde he also looks very impressive. Then in Ohio you have Golden who seems to by dynamic and has had some injury issues in his high school career. And then the Trouisant kid another one from Ohio I dont really know anything bout him other than what other people say. But anyways this is a need for us and we dont have any clear targets yet with Beanie likely to go to the NFL next year we are left with Saine and Herron that is all.

I would just like to see us get real serious on some of these blue chip RBs around the country with the Oline we have brought in and possibly landing TP why wouldnt you want to come here?

Toussaint's main asset's are his speed and quickness. He runs an electronic 10.5 100 meter dash, which is ridiculously fast I think the question with him are his grades and how well he fits into our offense at running back. As much as I'd hate to say it, he looks like a perfect fit for Rich Rodriguez and the offense he wants to instill at Michigan.

Well, Brown verballing early might end up being a good thing. Great player, no doubt, but he was a long-shot to begin with and I doubted we'd be able to pull him away from Miami. Now that he's committed early, he gives us a chance to target other out of state kids who now know that Bryce Brown won't be there to compete with them.

There's another Florida running back to look out for. His name is Lamar Miller. He's 5'11" 205 pounds and runs a 4.32 forty. He reportedly has a lot of interest in the Buckeyes, and even though it's his dream to be a Hurricane, I'm sure Bryce Brown verballing early gives us a shot.

Cool, I look into this guy. Are we going after him at all? Is he going to visit?

I don't know anything about him other than the fact that he has interest in Ohio State, he's really fast, he dominated the best level of competition in the state of Florida, and, um, he's really fast.

^^ Our offense will be different next year and it will be even more different during Toussaint's freshman year because of Pryor. When he's in there, it will be developed around him. It would be almost a Hybrid offense if you will. We aren't going to have a full out spread, but we won't be the same pro-offense that we once were without Pryor. In our offense, PRyor will learn to throw, thus become more reliant on his arm than his feet. He will still run, probably a lot, but he will throw more often and more efficiantly. By his Junior year, the offense will be more pro than spread because of how his arm has developed. Almost exactly like Troy Smith. We will still need to keep some kinda variation of the spread though, because when you got 4.4 speed, it needs to be taken advantage of. You see where I'm going?...

I think we already have thay guy though with Lammar Thomas I dont see the need to bring in another type of player like that. But i am no expert i would much rather see another big bruiser like Beanie. Herron is kinda of small and so is Saine. I like the video of Hyde but he will be tough to get out of Fl along with Lamar Miller who seems to be a pretty hard Miami lean already.

But its still February we have another 11 months of recruiting Very Happy

Ohio State did run a spread Troy Smith's senior year. It wasn't a spread-option, though, which is what schools like Michigan run. We would spread defenses out with five-wide and throw the ball around, or we would just line up in the I-Formation or singleback and simply knock you down. I forgot the exact percentage, but I believe Ohio State ran the ball 56% percent of the time that year. I expect that offense to be the one that Terrelle Pryor to have to master, but I think we'll see more option plays like Troy Smith in his junior year. With so many weapons out there the formations and strategies will be endless. Options to Lamaar Thomas, screens to Jake Stoneburner, deep outs with DeVier Posey, twin back sets with Danny Herron and Brandon Saine at fullback, reverses, and maybe even some quarterback screens.

Lamaar isn't neccissarily a RB. He was recruited as a WR. Yes, we will occasionally use him in those kinds of sets where he could be a RB. But, he doesn't have that kind of power to take a defender with him. If he runs directly up the middle, which is what Tressel's runs usually are, he'll be stuffed porbably 80-90% of the time...

Actually, after his performance during the U.S. All-American Bowl practices and game, Ohio State is actually looking at him as a running back. You'd have to think that with DeVoe Torrence's scholarship being pulled he'd get a look there. He's also gotten a lot bigger, reportedly up to around 195.

My friend told me Tressel contacted Marlon Brown. I don't know about you guys, but not a day goes by when I don't think about the potential this guy has in Scarlet and Gray...

Well they've offered so I'm sure they have been trying to contact him and get him up to campus. I guess if he seems interested he will be up soon or for the spring game. Hopefully he can a la Bryce Brown narrow the list and get an a clear cut 4 or 5 going in to summer or even commit somewhere this summer so that there isnt any drama like we are going through right now.

With the Cavaliers trade and all this '09 recruiting going on, this completely slipped my mind! Is it true that Pryor and his RB/WR ATH Jordan Hall are in Columbus right now and will be attending the Wisconsin game?

Jamie Wood committed to Ohio State today. He looks to be a killer safety prospect.
