QB: Cutler, Shaw

Hoyer has been terrible, Shaw has played in the NFL and looks capable of making some plays.

RB: Langford, Carey, Howard, Rodgers

WR: Jeffery, White, Mariani, Bellamy, Thompson, Braverman

I cannot keep Royal who is always hurt and with Mariani and Braverman playing he slot I don't think Royal has a spot. Thompson has been good in camp and gives them speed that they do not have outside of White.

TE: Miller, Lee, Scruggs

Scruggs blocking against the Patriots has really impressed me and I think he can grab a job if the TE spot is going to be about blocking.

OT: Leno, Massie, Adams, Weaver
OG: Long, Whitehair, Silatolu
C: Larsen, Edison

Weaver is one of the only young guys that has impressed me, and unless they trade for a C better than Holmes that Edison has a good shot with his experience in the offense.

DL: Hicks, Unrien, Bullard, Browner, Washington, Goldman

Browner is the surprise, but he has simply been better than Sutton and Ferguson, he also has better size than both. Washington was a man possessed in the 1st game and he plays on special teams.

OLB: McPhee, Young, Houston, Floyd, Acho

I don't know how you can cut Acho and the other 4 are total locks.

ILB: Freeman, Trevathan, Anderson, Timu, Kwiatowski

Kwiatowski may get IRed and open up a spot, but the other 4 seem locked in.

CB: Porters, Fuller, Callahan, Hall, Bausby

I don't know with the depth issues if McManis can make the team and not play defense. They need as many options to play defense as possible. Bausby has the size and they seem to like him a lot.

S: Amos, HJQ, Bush, Houston-Carson, Hurst

The surprise here may be Hurst, but they seem to really like him, he plays a ton of Postions and can be the super sub.

Specials

Gould
O'Donnell
Brewer

With Royal’s contract being fully guaranteed I still think he makes the roster…I keep him over Mariani who has lost return duties to Thompson.

I think we keep a FB on the roster in Young so we drop Weaver from the OL group…I would also keep Sinclair over Scruggs altho Scruggs would make sense to compete with Young.

I cut Timu unless Kwiatowski isn’t healthy and keep either Sutton or Williams to back up on the nose rather than having 5 ILBs.

I still think Hurst loses out to Prosinski.

I also have a funny feeling Christian Jones could still make this team.

Moeaki is an interesting one.

I wonder if he makes it over a guy like Scruggs? Part of me thinks they may just say screw it of Miller gets hurt the TEs are blocking and that is it.

Hard to see Khari Lee making this team at this point. He's just shown absolutely nothing. I'd think they go Miller/Moeaki/Scruggs.

I think they keep a FB too, Darrel Young has played well.

Can't see them keeping 9 OL, I think Weaver and Edison are cut and a veteran C is signed after final cuts are made.

Leno Jr
Whitehair....Silatolu
Larsen.....FA
Long
Massie....Adams

I still think regardless of Royal's injury history, he's going to make the team. Especially given his contract situation. I think Wilson and Thompson are the odd guys out.

Jeffery
White
Royal
Mariani
Bellamy
Braverman

I'd be fairly surprised if BOTH Sutton and Ferguson were released. I think Ego's done for after how well Browner played. I like you, was really impressed with him. Sutton has played well enough to earn that backup NT position.

Hicks.....Washington....Browner
Goldman....Sutton
Unrein....Bullard

I agree with you on the OLB group, that's about the most locked up position group on the team I think. Acho 100% makes this roster given his character, ST play, and versatility.

I think they keep 4 safeties like usual, Amos/HJQ/Bush/Prosinkski.

I think CB is another position they divulge in the last roster cuts pool and sign somebody. My guess is;

Porter
Fuller
Callahan
FA
Hall
Bausby

There's still a TON of question marks going through this roster.

Some young guys I would love to hide on IR or get through to the PR

OT Jason Weaver
WR Kieran Duncan
CB Taveze Calhoun
CB Devante Busby
NT Terry Williams
TE Gannon Sinclair

2 thoughts

1. Can Khari Lee be snuck through to the PS? If so that would be an added layer of depth and keep Scruggs around.

2. Does Scruggs allow them to keep 1 less DLmen than perhaps they were planning? Because in a walls crashing down emergency we know he can play DL without embarrassing himself.

I'd add Ben Braunecker as well. He has above average physical and mental traits, but that ankle injury has taken away a ton of time. Right now he will have to show out on the 4th preseason game to make the team IMO, so I think he could get by on IR and go for depth next year.
