Missouri WR Danario Alexander will miss next week's NFL Combine and his Pro Day campus workout after undergoing surgery on his left knee Tuesday.
Alexander, who racked up 1,781 yards and 14 TDs on 113 receptions last season, originally hurt the knee in Senior Bowl practices. An MRI after the game showed a defect in the cartilage of his knee. Though he had three previous surgeries to the ACL of the same knee, doctors say this surgery is unrelated. Considered a mid-round before the injury, Alexander is expected to be recovered by training camp. Questions will remain about his speed.

we all knew he had injury issues, I bet he goes undrafted I wouldnt mind getting him that way for almost nothing. _________________

Possible sleeper pick in the 5th RD?
Also Jimmy Clausen and Sam Bradford won't be going either and there chances of being picked first are hurt even more, Rams might skip them to go after Suh and Vick while Washington might go Okung. A QB should be there around our pick, giving us the perfect opportunity to trade back ala Browns last year, to say #7 or #9 maybe. Just hope McClain is still there and if not...Williams should.
Although teams might not want them and they could fall to the end of the 1st, which they won't but crazier things have happened before. _________________

Undrafted? Come on, he was good enough to go Round 3-4 right before the injury? He could still go 5-6 _________________

Ya there is no way he goes undrafted. I think using a 5th would be great on him. _________________

Intersting wording of the title...I was like, "wtf"??
But I'd like to take him 6th round or later, and would love to get him as a UDFA, no doubt. _________________

Damn, he cant get off the surgery table lol. This is a major setback for him, and Im pissed bc he was a fave player of mine. He couldve rocked the combine and moved up boards, but now he will most definitely fall. Undrafted? probs not but i wouldnt be shocked if it happened _________________

we have 3 5th rounders...
although its probably a good risk, id roll the dice in round 5.
if he recovers it woudl be a steal...if not its only a 5th rounder _________________

Sounds like a good idea to me. But would u draft another receiver earlier too? _________________

Yes we need a slot/return man way more then a #2 so long as Chambers returns. I still want Shipley or Gilyard in the 3rd. _________________

Depends whos available and when...i wont be surprised if Weis pleads to get Tate...if tate is available at 50 then why not? good value and fills a need _________________

I'm all for picking up a WR later in the draft because there should be some good sleepers.
Also Demaryius Thomas broke his foot and won't participate in the combine. Another sleeper who drops to the 5-6RDs?? _________________

I would love to see one of these guys in Red and Gold this year. Low risk/high reward guys.
Who would you guys rather have tho? IF both were available with our 5th round picks which guy would u take? _________________

Personally either one would be alright w me, but would have to give Thomas the nod mainly because he was shooting up draft boards before his injury & there were also rumors that he would run a better 40 time than expected, it would not have surprised me at all to see him go in the 2nd round. Alexander has seemed to have persistent injury concerns & was probably not going to go any higher than the 3rd or 4th round.
Overall I just think there is less risk & more upside w Thomas. |
