Welcome To Your Pittsburgh Steelers!

It has come to my attention that I have been given the honor of Steelers forum GM! Very Happy Of course, I can't do this alone!
Even if you don't want a position, and still want to voice your opinion on any move we make, feel free to speak up! After all, we're all family here Cool

Positions:

Head Coach - Aldo_The_Apache
Offensive Coordinator - jebrick
Defensive Coordinator - spush
Assistant GM - jcm_412
Capologist - jebrick
Director of College Scouting - (anyone?!)
President of Player Personnel - FourThreeMafia
Director of Media Relations - stillersenat
National Scouts -MOSteelers56, Sandwiche, C$!

Job Descriptions
- General Manager – Will make all of the final decisions and is in control of everything ranging from submitting trades to making draft picks. However, this position weighs equally amongst the staff in terms of opinion and everyone’s say should be accounted for before he determines the best route for the team. Each member will greatly influence his decisions.
- Assistant GM – 2nd in line to the GM and assists the GM in all areas. He will explore trade options around the league and all trade offers are directed through him to then announce in the war room for discussion. If the GM is unavailable the Assistant GM is able to make draft picks and post UFA bids. Only the GM and Assistant GM have this ability. Becomes the active GM in the absence of the nominated GM.
- Head Coach – Has a key part in all decisions, but his focus is mainly on the team itself, rather than looking for trade options, etc… The draft board and player targets should be of importance to him as adding players he views as a fit for his system is critical.
- Capologist – This person is in charge of maintaining and keeping tabs of the salary information of the team. At all times the team must maintain a budget in regards to the annual revenue the team brings in. The responsibility for correct figures will lie in his hands and an excel spreadsheet for constant updating is usually helpful. A 53 man roster must be maintained as well.
- Director of College Scouting – Helps decide needs and works with the national scouts to develop a big board for the draft.
- President of Player Personnel – Is responsible for developing a free agency target list. Projecting trades with other teams and reviewing players on all levels both college and pro.
- Director of Media Relations -- Will report to the writers with feedback and information relative to the news of what is happening with the organziation.
- National Scout -- Will evaluate draftable players. This can be position specific or not. RB scout will look into RB’s, LB scout will look into potential LB’s to add to the team.

You can find our team right here.

Pittsburgh Steelers Roster (UPDATED)[FEBRUARY 18]

We have 141 MILLION TOTAL. We have roughly XX million in space.

*Roughly XX MILLION as of 2/18/2010, that's couting RFA's.
Props to Dropkick_pride for catching that one! Wink

It's (XX) cause Im still trying to figure out what it is at the moment Laughing
Below is information from rabbisson about the NO CBA.

Quote:
Salary Structure Without a CBA:

The FFMD-10 v.1 will be operating under the premise that there will not be a CBA this offseason. Under that procedure, teams will have the necessary funds to spend 60 percent of the total revenue that the team has. Unlike past years, teams will also be able to spend money on signing draft picks and will be able to trade franchised players pending contract reconstruction (both of which must be PMed to the trade council in order to ensure a trade, but that will be explained in a later thread.) This is the amount of money that each team will have to spend in total. Any players already under contract should be deducted from your cap space posted on this list:

Two more things regarding no CBA. First, the Final Eight Plan is in effect, meaning that any team making the second round of the playoffs or further is not allowed to sign an unrestricted free agent unless they are making a direct positional replacement. Any team caught breaking that rule will be punished with a fine, a high draft pick forfeiture, or both in really bad cases.

Also, teams will have either two transition tags or one franchise and one transition tag to use. More information regarding that will come in a later thread.

If anyone has any money questions, feel free to PM myself, boondock or The LBC.

If anyone needs help with anything at all, feel free to PM me! I'm here for all your needs Very Happy

GENTLEMEN! BE ADVISED! THERE IS NO SALARY CAP!!!

You can find our team right here. Pittsburgh Steelers Roster We have a 235 MILLION DOLLAR LIMIT. We have 141 MILLION in space right now. Below is information from rabbisson about the NO CBA.

Salary Structure Without a CBA:

The FFMD-10 v.1 will be operating under the premise that there will not be a CBA this offseason. Under that procedure, teams will have the necessary funds to spend 60 percent of the total revenue that the team has.

please dont take this as trolling but I was just passing through and saw your above post and thought I would clarify it a bit.

The 235M is not your spending limit but rather the reported organizational total revenue as reported in Forbes magazine back in Sept. Each team is allowed to spend 60% of their total revenue, which is 141M figure. That is the cap number. You then deduct the current players under contract which is roughly 98M. Subtract the 98 from 141 and you have roughly 43M in space to sign your players.

again not trying to troll.

good luck and have fun.

I don't really have time for a main job because of University work, but I will follow and drop in from time to time to give advice and opinion.

I don't have time for a full time position, but will volunteer for any position that needs to be filled. I will definitely be involved with putting intake in throughout the entire process.

Alright, time to get things moving.

Where's our GM?

The roster has been listed and the "cap" is set. We need to get a trade block going along with our warroom positions finalized.
