I would keep Sharper, but not at his current price ($6M).
No way is he worth that much.
Cut him loose, see how many takers he gets in FA... |

I don't know... He's a great safety. I can't see why you guys are so down on him. Give me some reasons. _________________

Sharper is a slightly above average safety at this point... he's still somewhat valuable to the defense, just not at his current price tag.
My biggest complaint is his tackling... he's flat out awful.
His instincts are hit or miss... take the infamous TD that led to the Moss mooning incident. I was at the game...Sharper was supposed to blitz, Culpepper literally looks at Moss, motions for a go route... Sharper NEITHER blitzes or drops back in coverage... absolute non factor on the play. Of course I'm no defensive coordinator... but he should at least commit to one or another instead of playing in no man's land.
At the end of the day if he takes less money I think he could be a valuable part of the team, it's just hard for us to commit those kind of $$$ to a safety with the holes on our defense. |

Her makes plays, though. Just look at the Jaguars game. Manuwi picks up the ball, thinking it's a incomplete pass, and Sharper comes up, pops the ball out of his hands, and runs it for a TD. Those are the kind of players our defense needs. _________________

Just sign Sharper to a different contract. He seems to like it in Green Bay, and he is still a pretty good player after a injured year. Also 1 thing

Problem is, he stated in January or February that he WON'T take a pay cut, and this Friday he is due for a bonus or something (can't remember what exactly). So if he doesn't take a pay cut, he'll be gone... |

I think that even if he doesn't take a pay cut, we will still keep him because of his value to us. But then again, I said that about Rivera too... _________________

Sorry Guys,
Darren Sharper has been released. I think you guys are getting the SHAFT this offseason. But being a cowboys fan, I thank you for RIvera and now hopefully SHarper. Good luck to you. _________________

| Well, we will all find out in a few months how much Sharper will be missed. I'm guessing some pain will be felt, but it was a good time to part ways with an aging, underachieving strong safety. |
