May be it's fun to discuss another guys' roster projections. Came via twitter - so forgive me the odd layout:

Quote:
kentbabb I wound up throwing away my projected 53-man roster
with cuts, but I'll try to remember the surprises, other than Jarrad Page being cut.
kentbabb Not sure this is all that encouraging, but I cut too many
players, especially on offense. Had to re-add guys I'd cut to get to 53.

Quote:
kentbabb Projected QBs: Cassel, Croyle, Gutierrez. Position
grade: B-
I wouldn't rule out Palko making the team over Gut, but hey ... that's the #3 guy.
Quote:
kentbabb Projected RBs (6): Charles, Jones, Castille, Smith,
Battle, Cox. Position grade: A- (best position on the team, if you ask me)
Kestahn Moore to PS I guess. Not sure they'll keep both Castille and Cox.
Quote:
kentbabb Projected WRs (6): WR – Bowe, Chambers, McCluster,
Urban, Copper, Lawrence. Position grade: C- (maybe worst position group on team)
Copper primarily being a Special Teamer I guess, Lawrence as a project into year 2
Quote:
kentbabb Projected TEs (3): Pope, Moeaki, Cottam. Position
grade: B- (Moeaki looked great once he was healthy)
This assumes Cottam being healthy in time. Else add Banks.
Quote:
kentbabb Projected O-line (Cool: Albert, Waters, Niswanger, Lilja,
O’Callaghan, Ndukwe, Asamoah, Brown. Position grade: C. Better than last yr tho.
Short an OT in my opinion.
Quote:
kentbabb Projected D-line (6): Dorsey, Edwards, Jackson, Smith, Gilberry, Magee. Position grade: C, with potential to improve.

Quote:
kentbabb Projected LBs (10 ... yep): Belcher, Hali, Greenwood,
Herron, Johnson, Mays, Sheffield, Studebaker, Vrabel, Williams. Position grade: D+
So D+ is better than C- (the WR group)?
Quote:
kentbabb Projected DBs (Cool: Arenas, Flowers, Carr, Berry,
Leggett, Langford, Lewis, McGraw. Position grade: B+.
No love for Daniels? 8 guys is one short in my opinion.
Quote:
kentbabb Projected specialists (3): Succop, Colquitt, Gafford.
Position grade: B+

Quote:
kentbabb Here are the cuts you might call surprising: Page,
Wiegmann, Barry Richardson, Donald Washington, DaJuan Morgan.
Don't think they'll cut BRich unless they grab another OT somewhere.

Overall: I'd like to drop one LB (Greenwood, Herron, Mays, Sheffield) and a FB (Castille, Cox) and keep an extra OT (BRich?) and a DB (Daniels).

Agreed : I think, in this situation, that we should drop Herron and Castille and keep CB Donald Washington and either OC Wiegmann or undrafted free agent OT Tyler Eastman

Interesting.

I think the front 7 will turn heads. There are reasons why the team focussed on the secondary. I look for Urban to be solidly in the WR mix, and the group to be vastly better.

Points of disagreement: I think Cox gets beat, and does not make the team. Morgan hangs on. Page is signed and traded. There is no LS battle. I think Lokey makes a run at a roster spot as DL/LS. Too many LBs. 8 tops. Greenwood to PS, Herron cut. Washington stays (over Daniels) as FS/CB/Dime/ST.

This team will have a lot of slashes. I would not be suprised to see a FB/TE/ST emerge. Or a SS/LB.
