Erik Cole is going to miss 4-6 weeks (whats new).
Looks like Samsonov will be taking the 1st line role along with Staal at center and Tuomo Ruuto at Right Wing.
Looks like Samsonov, Cullen and Ruuto will be the first options for the shootout. _________________

Great win tonight.
Finally they got some offense going and kinda made up for that embaressment against the b's.
Sammy got an A, his second. _________________

Kind of another dissapointing loss tonight. Looks like the defense is just not up to par so far.
Offense is producing pretty consistent. 2-2-4 goals aren't bad if you dont count the shutout.
Goalie looks great he is definately the franchise goaltender that they thought he was.
Samsonov grabbed another assist (Im waiting for that first lamp-lighter) but he managed to finish -2 partly due to an ENG. _________________

Can we please get Eric Staal a winger please? He can't do it alone. All we have is Staal, C.Ward and a bunch of role players. I think Pitkanen can be great one day and is having a great year. Samsonov, is a good 2nd liner along with Whitney. I absolutely hate Joe Corvo, we should have kept Anton Babchuk and let Corvo go. Just a little rant, hope we can turn it around. _________________

I think Carolina is just struggling as a whole team. It seems like no one can really get anything going. If Eric Staal is really that good (which he is) he will get going eventually. But ward played pathetic last night and the offense just can't produce. The only thing that is playing up to par is the D. And I think the powerplay is doing all right too. _________________

Pretty much a complete line-up change for todays game.
Samsonov on the third.
Larose on the first.
Ruuto is out.
Leighton in net.
Doesn't seem to be working out either. _________________

Think we're the only two.
JR surprised me with a few of his moves this offseason (swapping Corvo with Kaberle is a huge improvement to me.). I do believe that we will be improved from last season, but so will half of the East. We'll finish somewhere from 7-10 I think.
I'd like to see something like this come opening night.
Ponikarovsky - Staal - Ruutu
Skinner - Jokinen - Dalpe
Stewart - Sutter - LaRose
Tlusty - Brent - Dwyer
Pitkanen - McBain
Kaberle - Gleason
Allen - Harrison
Joslin
Ward

Zac Dalpe, Justin Faulk and Ryan Murphy have all made the team. I expect Murphy to see at least 9 games and then sent back to Kitchener. It wouldn't shock me in the least to see McBain getting dealt soon, he's going to be a healthy scratch tomorrow. Luke DeCock, a Canes beat writer speculated that Oilers C Sam Gagner could be a target for McBain. Faulk has all but pushed McBain out.
Looks like we'll start out with something like this tomorrow night. Maurice is horrible at making lines, Poni played awesome with Staal in the preseason and his reward is the third line. There is also no point in having Dalpe on the 'Canes if he is going to get fourth line minutes while Chad ****** LaRose gets top six minutes.
Skinner - Staal - Ruutu
Tlusty - Jokinen - LaRose
Ponikarovsky - Sutter - Dwyer
