The good thing is there is no way we can possibly come out flat after the bye. Last season we looked like do do against the Lions and Raiders. People were saying how we would lose a bunch of games to GB, NO and the NYG as bad as we looked after the bye. I mean we may still suck, but we would actually have to be playing good to come out flat again. It should at least get a little better after the bye. In theory... |

I liked the bye last year knowing where we were and what our potential is. This year the wind has been taken out of my sails more or less, knowing that it will pretty much take a miracle to come back into contention. Also knowing that I can't even look forward to a good draft pick makes me really mad.
We need a new coaching staff. _________________

I get what you're saying, but there is something disturbingly numbing about knowing you aren't in contention anymore. It sounds weird, but I'd much rather be the best of the best or the worst of the worst than the middle of the pack. At least people talk about you if you're at the edge of the spectrum, but nobody cares if you're at the middle of it. It's average and average is boring. Sadly, we will probably win enough games to be average eventually. They will probably win enough games to just miss the playoffs. Enough to get me a little excited before disappointing me again. That's the great thing about being out now. There's no tease at the end. I'd much rather get blown out than lose by a missed FG. Eventually the sting from a blowout will go away, but that pit in your stomach that you were a botched Kickoff away from being world champions ... that feeling never passes ... EVER. Just ask the Raiders. Ask Tony Romo. Ask the Titans. It sucks. |

John Fox sucks! DeAngelo is a beast! Beason is a mini Ray Ray!
And I think I am going to go into oncology. Pediatric oncology. It sounds interesting. |
That is a field I've been interested in for a long time. Are you in med school right now?
I talked to a pediatric oncologist during the summer. Their job has a lot of ups and downs. It is amazing to see a child beat cancer, but it is also heartbreaking to see cancer take such a young life. |
Naw, I am way too old for med school. I would be the radiographer. Not the radiologist.
But I just had a speaker talk to our class about PET and nuclear medicine and it sounds really interesting. I am going to apply to both programs.
And yeah, I agree. I imagine it would be gt wrenching watching kids that lose the fight. But you just have to celebrate all the victories, large and small and realize you can't save em all. But you can save some. And fight like heck for the others. |
It is a pretty serious business. I want to become either a trauma surgeon or an emergency room doctor. Obviously in those professions the results with patients will very from miracles to heart-breaking disasters. _________________

I wish you luck. I wish I woulda done it earlier. I'll tell you right now though, working in the OR sucks. Way too much standing in one place. It kills me.
As an aside, I have one of the best arguments for NFL Sunday Ticket. The Saints are playing the Jets in the late rotation and, for whatever retarded reason, Fox is showing Cowboys/Broncos.
WTH??? One of the best games of the weekend between two unbeatens. Best offense vs best defense type game. And we get Cowboys and Broncos?
Last time I go into the season without Sunday Ticket.
Last time.
Edit: Now that I think about it, maybe that's been the plan all along. It's a conspiracy to get me to shell out for Sunday Ticket. _________________

this guy on espn is giving all the teams new logos based on their play this season...the logo fits perfectly for this team IMO! |
Dude, some of those are absolutely hillarious.
You should post this in the NFL forum. It would get some laughs. _________________

I don't disagree, except for this year. This year sucking makes me more mad. Normally we would be able to say "well at least we have the draft." Not this year. This year we get to think of how we traded our first rounder for someone who hasn't contributed at all to our season. Oh well _________________

| Sometimes I wish Carolina had bigger media attention. It seems like every team gets it except us. |

Today, I let NC State Freshman basketball player Jordan Vandenberg borrow a pen in a class. I really hope he makes it to the NBA, so that I can say I gave an NBA player a pen once!
It was funny, because he sits 2 rows in front of me, but neither of us had to get up, we could reach far enough for me to give him the pen! _________________

When I was in undergrad I had a couple of French classes with Dejuan Groce. He was a really cool guy - had a ferret named Chico. He was actually really friendly, too, which was nice because I had a few classes with a couple of other football players and a lot of them seemed to be "too cool." I helped him out with a couple of homework assignments, let him borrow some utensils, etc.
So I guess I can say I loaned my pencil to an NFL cornerback. Woo! _________________

Nice.
Theres a freshman safety in my french class, his names Donald Coleman. I don't know if hes good, he doesn't play yet though. Hes #10 on the wolfpack.
My Brother had a few classes with Phillip Rivers, which was pretty cool, he didn't really know him though. One of my brothers' friends had classes with Mario Williams. _________________
