Obviously there is still alot of football left to be played in the college season, and alot can change between now and the NFL draft, but as of right now, do you guys think that Ndamukong Suh could end up being the top pick in the 2010 draft? I know alot depends on who is picking in the top 5, but I could see a team like St. Louis for example looking long and hard at Suh if they ended up with the top pick in 2010. I am not saying they will, but I think Suh could be a logical choice considering Steve Spagnuolo's defensive background and his track record of putting an emphasis on strong play from the defensive line. I know there is a topic on the best 4-3 defensive tackle, but I wanted to get some opinions on whether you guys think Suh has the physical skill set and is dominant to possibly go #1 overall in 2010? I personally think if he continues the strong play so far throughout the rest of the season, he is going to be one of the top names the media jumps on, and I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up #1 overall with a strong senior campaign and strong offseason workouts.
Edit - another team to consider looking at Suh #1 overall could be Detroit if they end up picking first. Like Spagnoulo, Schwartz has a defensive background and could look to upgrade the defensive line. Suh could go a long way in doing that.

First, we won't be no 1. Probably not top five.
Second, we've already got a couple threads of this up.
Third, most people, for reasons I can't fathom, llike McCoy better. Why, I don't know. _________________

| If Detroit is pickin #1 again he'd be a good pick. There's not any real elite OT's in this class, there's plenty of good ones but none worth the #1 pick IMO, and as much as they need help on the OL they need more help on defense. And as good as Eric Berry is, I cant really imagine anyone taking a safety #1 overall even if he is the best player in the draft. |

In my latest mock, I have Ndamukong Suh being selected number one overall by the St. Louis Rams - so, yes, I think Suh has a legit shot of being the number one overall pick. _________________

Even the Lions were close to winning last year. You cant say the Rams wont have the first pick because they ALMOST beat Washington.
That said, Im almost certain the Lions will have the first pick again. Wouldnt be suprised if St. Louis had the second pick....again. _________________

Eh, I got the draft order from WalterFootball. To be honest, I don't think the St. Louis Rams will be picking number one, but I think they'll be picking in the top five. _________________

If the Lions are picking #1 expect McCoy or Suh to be the pick if they can't trade out of it. Both are great in their own way. _________________

The one thing I've learned since I started following the draft year-round is that size/speed guys go up. Suh is a very good athlete and very strong, but unless he weighs in high or blows up the combine, I'd expect McCoy to go first. And I'm a Suh fan.
But, around the league, athletes will rise over football players come draft time. Suh is, to me, a killer football player. He really uses his hands and feet well. And he's a very good athlete, don't get me wrong. Above-average athletically. He isn't an athletic freak, though. And it is the freaks that go high. |

Are you kidding me, Dorsey was a fat slob who made his name off of beating trap blocks.Dorsey still doesnt have the strength to compete in the NFL. Suh is imposing physically and even more by his play, he is super strong at the point of attack, quick, stout vs. the run, can get off blocks, and is an excellent pass rusher. Don't ever put Suh in the same sentence with Dorsey.
As a matter of fact, If he went in this draft, knowing what we know now, he would probably be 9th Tackle taken.
1st-Suh(Nebraska)
2nd-McCoy(OU)
3rd-Cody(Bama)
4th- A.Jones(Syracuse)
5th-B.Price(UCLA)
6th- M.Austin(UNC)
7th- Oghobaase(Duke)
8th- Odrick (Penn St.) _________________ East Tech Golden Scarabs- Home of Jesse Owens
