Houston 55 Northwestern State 7
Individual Statistics:
Case Keenum 23-30 359 YDs 5 total TDs (1 rush)
Bryce Beall 9 ATT 58 YDs 6.4 AVG 1 TD
Charles Sims 6 REC 128 YDs 2 total TDs (1 rush)
Phillip Steward 13 tackles
Great showing from the Coogs. I think the difference between this team and Briles' teams are that we would have had 9 illegal procedure penalties and 2 timeouts used in the first quarter. We are extremely disciplined, special teams especially. Also, I like how Sumlin plays the second teamers to get them experience, Briles never ever took out Kolb for Joseph. Onto Stillwater next, should be a pretty high scoring game! _________________

I figured we should start some recruiting talk. I really like our incoming recruiting class. We have our QB after Keenum in Terrence Broadway, who I really like. We got some defensive help with Alton Demby, from Northshore, and Rodney Williams. Coach Sumlin has done a nice job recruiting so far. Over 20 commits. _________________

I like Broadway a lot. But, I was looking at the team last night and I saw true freshman Drew Hollingshead. He is huge, 6-3 210 but looks taller than that. He has a cannon of an arm, and I think that once Case leaves him and Broadway will split time. _________________

Yeah, I saw him during warm ups also. I am fine with both of them splitting time, but I expect Broadway to get most of the snaps between the two.
You think we can get the top recruit Jackson Jeffcoat? After all, his dad is our defensive line coach. I think it is a long shot, but who knows. _________________

Houston at UTEP
Saturday
7:05 PM Central
Sun Bowl
Big game tomorrow. We need to come out and show that we won't lay down and that we will stay focused. We are much more talented than the Miners, hopefully we bring it this week. I predict that Case will be on the money, with over 330 yards passing and 3 TDs. I think Bryce will have his first 100 yard game rushing, and we will score 45 points. I think the final score will be UH 45 UTEP 24. _________________

I don't think it is a big game for us in CUSA play just yet. Utep has been horrible on offense this season. Their starting QB, Trevor Vittatoe hasn't been the same player he was so far like like season although he did light us up the last time we played them. I wish this game was on TV.

Tough loss guys. I really thought you were going to make a run at it too.
Also, Keenum's arm is gonna fall off after this one. 76 pass attempts. Really!?!?! _________________

That's a tough one to lose mates; I know the feeling, as a Penn State fan.
Ah well, the season goes on.
It's already been quite a success regardless. The Houston program is only going up right now. _________________

Shut up man. I didn't go like that to the Titans forum when we beat y'all about two weeks ago.
It was a tough loss. Our defense is awful. _________________
