When taking both Playoff and Regular season into consideration, analyzing stats, situations, surrounding talent, and their abilities as QBs from a scouting standpoint, who was the better QB?

Marino. Aikman was far behind, far far behind, basically so far behind it's absurd.

Marino had a worse surrounding cast and I can't blame him for failing to get a ring.

On the other hand you have Aikman who barely outpaced INTs with his TDs.

Marino by far. He was never really surrounded by great players.

Marino is top 5 all-time.... Aikman might crack the top 20 all-time, might.

And I usually defend Aikman against guys like XoX cause he was a great QB and I did like him but there is no comparing him to Marino.

Side note

Before someone calls me a homer b/c I'm a Cowboys fan and I posted this topic, I think the answer is Marino - but I was debating someone else who said it was Aikman.

Whoever you were debating I'd love for them to come share their reasons for saying Aikman.

420>165 last time I checked.

As the second voter I can attest to this. Also saw the originating thread.

I won't disclose any names, but if you want to find that person and his opinions just search the "general" area.

His primary reason for taking Aikman over Marino was because Aikman was a better playoff QB than Marino, and helped his team win 3 SB's.

i have a soft spot for Aikman because he's the only one that really defends Eli, and recognizes a little bit of himself in Eli in saying they both are better QBs than stats indicate, but in this case, the gap is just too big.

Marino is my choice.
