Meet The Eagles (Posters)

I'm next? OmygodImsoexcited!

1) Lets start with the basics, where do/did you go to school and where do you work? And what do you like about it?

Quote:
I went to high school in Struthers, Ohio. I took a few courses at Central Texas College while I was in the Army. In spite of never going to college full time, I have probably spent more time in school in one way or another than your average college grad.

Currently I work as an electronics specialist for a major rail corporation. As for what I like about it: I get to work with alot of computers and electronics (obviously) which is a bit of a hobby of mine anyway. I also get time to at least read the FF message boards occasionally...not a bad gig, really.

2) What is the current CD in your car or playlist on your Ipod playing? What is your favorite song on this CD/Playlist?

Quote:
A random mix of current and classic hard rock/metal. My favorite of the bunch? That's tough to say because at any given time that could change...I wouldn't put the songs on there if I didn't like them. Would you like a list?

3) I consider you one of the most realistic posters on the Eagles board and a personal favorite to read. If The Eagles donít win the Superbowl, what are 5 outrageous statements that you expect to hear over the next offseason?

Quote:
First off, thanks for the compliment. Second, this could get ugly.

1. Fire Reid.
2. Trade McNabb.
3. Draft Tebow (possibly in conjunction with #2).
4. This wouldn't happen if the front office wasn't so cheap.
5. Tradezz fur Boldinzzzz!!1!
6(bonus!). The receivers suck.
7(bonus #2!). The Eagles don't run the ball enough.
8(the bonus trifecta!). People using the fact that they didn't win the SB to somehow prove that the team is a total failure.

Want to take bets on how many I am right on?

4) Who is your favorite and least favorite Eagles players currently on the roster, and why?

Quote:
Least favorite is easy. I don't think many would argue with me, either. Matt Schobel. The guy does nothing other than sit there and be a "veteran presence" at TE (unless you count missing blocks that cost the team games...).

Favorite is tougher. Probably either Trent Cole or Brian Westbrook.

5) If you could choose one player from the NFL to be on the Eagles for one season (Not Darren Sproles) who would it be and why?

Quote:
Only 1? If it were 2, this would be super easy. Jared Allen and Andre Johnson. Imagining Allen and Cole as bookends is just a scary thought. And who wouldn't want arguably the best WR in the NFL right now? There would be no "lack of weapons" complaints. I think Maclin will turn out to be a good one, but he is still a rookie and I don't really expect alot from him this year.

In the end, though, I guess my "old school" defensive mentality would win out, and I would take Allen. Cole needs someone to help him out on the other side and Allen can command double teams while still making plays. He is also stout against the run. Super scary for opposing offenses.

6) If you could make one blockbuster trade for the Eagles right now, who would you trade for, how much would it cost the Eagles, and why would you make this trade? (Keep it realistic)

Quote:
Actually, I think the Eagles are in pretty good shape. I have never really been a fan of the "blockbuster" trade. Pretty much anyone I would want would either not be realistically available or simply cost too much in picks/players. I wouldn't mortgage the future (and possibly the present) for 1 guy.

One idea I do like though, would be to maybe package a couple of mid-round picks (the Eagles have 2 3rd and 2 4th round picks, I believe) to the Raiders for Michael Bush (he was a 4th round pick). He has shown that he can still play and flashes of real NFL ability (averaged over 6 YPC over 27 carries vs TB, for example). He was offered for any position he wanted by his colege coach, which shows his versatility. He can catch, run, block, and is a bit of a load at 245 lbs.

With Westbrooks knees on the decline he would give the Eagles another option at RB and could end up being a nice 1-2 punch with Mccoy in the future. Not a blockbuster by any means, but a great fit, IMO. The Raiders already have McFadden and Fargas as well as several other backs going into training camp, so Bush already has alot of youth to contend with on the depth chart there as it is. Here he comes in as the definite 2 or 3 guy, with the top guy on his way out in a couple of years.

7) Who is your favorite superhero of all time and why?

Quote:
Duck Dodgers (in the 25th and a half Century!). I am a big fan of Looney Toons. Although, more traditionally, I like the Hulk and Spider-man. I guess because I remember watching the cheesy live-action TV shows as a kid.

8 ) If you could have any job in the world right now, what would it be and why? (Pay has nothing to do with your selection)

Quote:
Um...porn star? Beer taster? Lottery winner? Pick one...

9) If you are a top rated college recruit and you are given a full ride to any football school you want for college, where would you go and why?

Quote:
Ohio State, and it isn't even close. I'm from Ohio, I was brainwashed as a child. (at least those silly Browns fans didn't get ahold of me... /shiver)

10) In 2020, you will be_____?

Quote:
Married to Megan Fox, living in Vegas, while boozing, gambling, and philandering away her income.

Thanks for your time and participation.

Quote:
No problem. Thanks for including me. Just be aware that my answers are subject to change without prior notice.

Amen to that! He has always reminded me of J. Bettis: huge guy with feet as nimble as any I've seen in quite some time. He'd be a perfect compliment to Westbrook and McCoy.

Agreed. Not to mention, he helped us out a lot last year by single-handily destroying the Buccaneers.

Excatly. Now I understand the joke Wink but everyone seems to forget Bush was coming off a major injury Hunt was not. Thats the reasoning. Now did that reasoning play a factor in the FO possibly choosing Cornelius Ingram this season seeing how things turned out before basing everything on a injury who knows, maybe.

Although I like the Jared Allen pick in hopes to pair him with Cole don't they both play on the same side?? Who would switch and would that Player be as effective on the other side??

Right. And they took Ike coming off a busted ACL as well. I don't see how the philosphy changed from one year to the next, but maybe they realized something about recovering from injury. And Bush was a top back in the country at Louisville, whereas, sorry Penn St. homers, but I didn't see Hunt as anywhere near the first or second round.

Hindsight is always 20/20, fellas.

Akili Smith or Ricky Williams FTW! (See 1999 draft) Laughing Laughing Laughing

I think that's something you work out in training camp. Regardless, Allen-Patterson-Bunkley-Cole imediately launches the defensive line from top 6 or 7 in the league to arguably the best.

I never understood the Hunt pick. I felt he was a bad fit. Hunt is a bruiser who gets better with more carries and wears out defenses. I think getting picked by the Eagles may have been the worst thing that could have happened to him.

I always liked Bush as a great fit and saw him as a fringe 1st rounder before his injury. I'm not sure it was a change in philosophy on the Eagles part, it's possible they simply had little interest in Michael. Although I'm not sure why. Maybe they saw his injury as more career threatening than Ike's? Ingram is understandable because of when it happened...he was able to convince teams he was totally healed by the combine.

For Question 3, answers 6 and 7 are correct, not outrageous. I'm still not sure why stating the achilles heels of the team is "outrageous" in your estimation killdawabbit. Otherwise, this was a great read.
