Should be a welcome sign that Detroit has officially mailed in the season.

As I said in the previous thread leading up to the game against the Cleveland Steamers, the Vikings tend to play down to our level of competition... The easier the potential game, the more worried I get. It's still a road game, and Detroit does have a fairly talented (albeit underachieving) team. But, we are fairly hot right now and our season rests on this game! I don't see any way (barring a monumental collapse by the Bears or a wildcard contender) that we have a slim playoff hope if we lose this game. It's a must-win for us, and the kitties losing their coach should be a psychological blow that should help the Vikes out...

Hopefully, the Lions will be reeling from the publicity and not get fired up. Not to mention, Juran seemed to coach well against the Vikes so as long as the Vikings have one more point than the Lions on Sunday, I'm cool with it.

Course, ya almost gotta figure Matt Millen should be next.

No kidding!!! This guy must be sleeping with the Ford's or something... Maybe he's got some pictures and he's blackmailing them... How that franchise can continue to wallow in mediocrity without Millen taking the axe for his incompetence is beyond me--but, this is the same franchise that gave Wayne Fontes second, third, fourth, fifth, etc... chances. (Much to the delight of Vikings fans, I might add.)

To call Millen "below average" is an insult to all of us that have ever fairly received a "D" before!!!

^ for what ? he pulled Harrington when it was the OL at fault for not blocking - bad call ...

M Millen fire him to save face of himself - he sucks at running the team plain and simple ...

we should come out on top with this game but Detroits troops just might rally together in this - this could be a spark for them - it is a must win for the vikes

how bout this....

lets just fire our coach too. then we'd be on even playing fields...we'd both have teams trying too rally around head coaches getting the axe.

We cant lose to the Lions now. Whos the interm? Hey the Vikes should hire Marriuci as an offensive coordinator/consultant/assitant for the rest of the season. He was alright in San Fran. That would be interesting if he was brought in the week of facing his old team. Laughing I wouldnt be opposed to him on the Vikings staff and becoming our future Offensive Coordinator or Head Coach.

^ Wow that would be some coaching staff Shocked Mooch, Holmgren, Reid Gruden and Jauron. The Vikes had Dungy, Billick, Denny Green, and Monte Kiffin, that is pretty darn good staff.
