Guys, cool it. Next one to throw anything close to a personal attack is getting a warning.

Today's game was certainly not fun to be at it, but I guess we were due for a loss.

Joba really needs to start throwing first pitch strikes though, as it's very hard to be down in the count on seemingly every hitter.

Funny how we whine about getting replacement for Mitre. Aceves and Gaudin were so ineffective against Mariners.

Robertson pumps up hard I guess Yankees have to stop using him like Scott Proctor, who had rubber arm with many pitches every game. When enough rest, He throws more 94s. When overused, he usually throws no harder than 92. Good news for him, Bruney seems to be revert back to good form.

Draft crap: So far, No Meade, Lyons and Buenings for Yanks. Heathcott and Murphy may only need to pass physical test tomorrow.

Good News!!!!!!!!

Heathcott, Murphy and Cotham are signed with us. Stoneburner is next.

Funny how have Yanks been talking about tight budget..

First Round Pick: Heathcott for 2.2M.
Second Round Pick: Murphy for 1.25M
Fifth Round Pick: Cotham for 675K around.

Heathcott's money is about the same as 3rd-5th slot higher in the first round this year.

Romine's 2nd round money is merely 500k.

Cotham's money is 2nd highest in the MLB's 5th Round history. 5K short.

While all is good, Yanks may not afford to snatch Lyons, Meade and few others. Oh well, you cant have everything at once.

Russ Oritz is released after 3 starts in the minor with Yanks due to contract agreement.

Well, these kind of things happens occasionally. A two game losing streak isn't all that bad, but it's important that we win tomorrow.

It really is embarrassing.

AJ was scared to even pitch to Ellis. He took away one of Ellis RBIs with that balk.

Lets hope Oakland can continue this tomorrow. Very Happy

This was the first time we had lost two straight games this month.

I am still in shock that Tomko didn't get completely shelled. This seemed like a surefire L.

Aside from the Cardinals, the team with the highest payroll in each of its respective divisions is leading that division. So...it helps.

I was at the game Saturday (boo...) and Sunday (hooray!) Boy, what a contrast in Yankees fans at Safeco. We sat in pretty nice seats on Saturday (50' past 1st base, 100 level, 15 rows up) and there were a few jokers to our right that I think every Mariners fan in attendance (all 12,000 of them) wanted to murder. A white NY painted on one of the guys face, one of those really annoying soccer horns blaring every time a Yankee did something noteworthy, and after Griffey's failed AB's (0-3, 3 k's) he stood up and did a 360 while holding a GRIFFEY WHO??? sign.

Sunday...sat in the CF bleachers, 5th row from the top. Guy and gal sitting next to me were Yankees fans in their early 40's, enjoyable as could be. There was a guy to our left who was ribbing the Yankees and saying trash like 'OMG EVEN A GRAND SLAM WOULDN'T TIE THE GAME!!' and I was like 'yeah, well, they'll still have the best record in baseball...' I then realized that I defended the Yankees and left the ballpark in shame...

I'm just really glad we didn't get swept, or else I would have owed my Yankees-crazed brother $20. Who needs A-Rod when you can Fister?! (best sign of the weekend)

mission, I wouldn't go as far as saying that the Mariners 'suck' and that we got destroyed in 3 straight games. Saturday was a game of missed opportunities and stupidity by our ballclub, anything but being destroyed. The Yankees scored 1 ER during that game...and so did we. So, yes, you are correct that we did lose the series 1-3, there's no debating that, but we were only outscored 23-15. Without you guys facing Felix/Wash/Bedard and instead our murderers row of Snell/Rowland-Smith/French/Fister, we limited the highest scoring team in baseball to a combined 6 ER in the final 3 games of the series. Go all sabermetrics on me and tell me how we got lucky and our BABiP is screwy and it's our def UZR that makes all the difference, I don't care. It was a competitive series.

In the first three games of the series, you lost by a combined 15 runs. We crushed you in game one and we won by solid margins in games two and three.

I just didn't see the need for Mesa to come in here trash talking and desparaging the perfromance of our players because he was frustrated at losing three out of four.

And yes, I do believe that as of now, the Mariners are one of the worst teams in baseball. You're running out a bad offense and only one legit major league starter. Sure, you started the year with Washburn and Bedard, but that's not relevant as neither is going to pitch another inning with your team. You guys are around .500 and have a horrible RD, neither of which is likely to improve with your #2 and #3 starters gone.

I don't have a problem with the Mariners, but if someone is going to trash talk in here, they better do it after their team shows up to play. And if their team is kind of crap right now, I will tell them just how bad I think their team is.

Wow! We got a mention on the Yankees blog I read.

Quote:
This from a random forum, so take it with a grain of salt:

Quote:
I’ve got a great story to share from last night’s game.

So yesterday, Phil Coke was signing autographs for a bunch of Yankees fans for about 20 minutes (I didn’t get one unfortunately), and some guy comes up with a Red Sox hat expecting an autograph. Coke takes the ball, looks him straight in the eye, and says you have got to be kidding me. So eventually he signs it, and the Red Sox fan goes “Yankees suck!” Coke goes, “Oh really, because I seem to recall what happened last weekend.”

After that, the guy goes, “It doesn’t matter, we’ll pass you in the standings next Thursday.” And Coke goes, “I do believe we have an off-day next Thursday, so it appears you know as much about baseball as most Red Sox fans do.”

Oh, snap!!! We want the players to feel the way we do about the Red Sox and their fans. Phil Coke definitely does.

Nice job Timbit! Laughing Applause
