Great article on Johnny Damon from River Ave Blues:

Hopefully Mitre can get the job done tonight.

That's asking a lot of him, but I'm semi-hopeful. If he's not, we must give Gaudin at least a shot to take his place.

It's game time, and hopefully Mitre can finally have a decent outing tonight.

I just heard a pretty shocking statistic. If we had had A-Rod for the entire season, and kept up the pace we've been on since he came back from the DL, we'd be on pace for 112 wins.

I have an honest question.

When you look at Mark Texeira, does he look like a baseball player to you?

Seriously. This is no indictment on his skills, but he constantly looks like Jared from Subway got his lunch money taken away and he's about to cry.

Eh, I always saw Eli Manning as that kind of guy.

I see Mark as kind of like Eli's brother, Peyton. Because I just have this strange vision of Teixeira, Peyton Manning, and Tim Tebow womanizing during a night on the town, a la Neil Patrick Harris in the Harold and Kumar movies.

Mitre is not very good.

A double, a 3-2 count and about two feet short from a homer so far for the Mariners.

Mitre is trash. The only reason he's around still is because he's one of Girardi's guys.

Perhaps he has pictures of Girardi doing something that would be frowned on. Wink

I hadn't realized the Mariners were starting Luis Castillo in center today.

Both teams are destroying the ball.

The Yankees took advantage of a dropped pop-up, and got four in the top of the second, capped by a two run blast by Swisher.

Hopefully Mitre can hold this lead.

We're hitting it deep seemingly every at-bat tonight.

And with the Rangers having a 7-2 lead, tonight could be another opportunity to improve our lead in the division.

The Red Sox lost to the Rangers 7-2, so a win tonight makes it 7 and a half games up on Boston and 11 and a half up on Tampa Bay.
