Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield estimates he will spend 80 to 90 percent of Sunday's game matched up against Browns rookie receiver Braylon Edwards. The third overall selection in the draft, Edwards caught a season-high six passes for 90 yards in Sunday's 22-0 victory over Miami.

"He's going to be a good receiver," Winfield said. "He's still young and needs to polish up his routes. But he makes some good catches. Against me, I'm sure they'll probably throw it up and make him go up and get it."

Edwards is 6-3, 211-pounds, while Winfield is 5-9, 180. But Winfield, a seven-year veteran, is confident his experience will help. "I'll get a jump on a few of his routes just by the way he comes off the ball and some of the formations they line up in," Winfield said.

Should be a good matchup for us all game long. I hope they dont throw too many jump balls towards Edwards way because of the 6 inch height difference. Edwards hasnt done a whole lot this year, I hope it isnt his coming out party at the dome. If Edwards starts making plays he needs to be double covered immediately so we dont have a repeat of Smith vs. Smoot all afternoon. The only receiver that scares me on the Browns offense is Edwards because of his playmaking ability in college, have to make sure he doesnt beat us.

yeah, i'm thinking about that too and you have to believe so is antoine.

i bet he's saying to himself that edwards has to come DOWN with the ball too for it to be a reception.

Any of you get the feeling Braylon's gonna wake up Monday thinking he must've been in 17 carwrecks?

If they throw high balls to him in the middle, he should get crushed. Also, if they throw any quick hitches to him, Antoine should be laying wood to him.

In the end, the defense has to worry about Droughns more than anyone on the Browns, but if they try to gun it too much to Edwards, the Vikes should get a couple more picks.

^ Hopefully the Vikes will got a lot of oppurtunities for a few picks, especially with the clowns throwing the ball for Cleveland. Laughing Im not too worried about Droughns having a big game. Our run defense has been near dominant the past six games, although they havent played a back the calibur or Droughns. The run defense definetely has confidence and that goes a long way.

if winfield had 3 more inches, ppl would think of him as the best cb in the nfl. hes just so complete but the only thing he lacks is size.

heh heh heh..welcome to the metrodome, mr big shot.

and for braylon to come down with some passes, his qb is going to have get them reeeeal close to his hands for him to catch.

cleveland have anyone that can do that?

Dilfer's 176/278 for 63%, which is (unfortunately) better than Brad, at 64/112 for 57%. Frye is 6/11 (do your own math).

Winfield may be small, but he is very phisical and even if Edwards catches a pass he won't be going any where after due to the fact that Winfield is probably the best tackler on the team.

lets hope that Edwards does not have a good day - a catch or two is fine but to have a big day would be upsetting - lets get williamson going down field too - show a seventh overall can do with out the mouth

sounds good to all of us, but there's a chance williamson won't be active for this game.

i think we're going to try to get koren robinson to bust out.
