I know this is very early, but I wanted to do a project that was time consuming to make the weekend go by a little faster. I appreciate all feedback, and I hope you like it!
2009 Pre Season Cuts
RB Eldra Buckley
Eldra Buckley could possibly make a roster that keeps four Running Backs, but I don't think he does here. Despite Booker being bad, I don't think Buckley is an upgrade over him.
RB Walter Mendenhall
Mendenhall is a player who will probably be out of the league in a year or two while being bounced around practice squads during the span.
FB Kyle Eckel
With the signing of Weaver in the off season, there is no need for Eckel anymore. He'll probably find a new home during the season, like he did with the Eagles last year.
FB Marcus Mailei
I've never heard of this guy, but since Eckel gets cut, he does too.
WR Reggie Brown
Brown hasn't done anything for this club and I'm sure the team is tired of waiting for him to finally come around, which most likely won't happen. We have good depth at the position, so there's no need for him anymore.
WR Danny Amendola
I liked Amendola coming out of college, but we have good enough depth at Wide Receiver so there's no need to keep him.
WR Shaheer McBride
If Amendola doesn't make the roster or practice squad, neither does McBride.
WR Brandon Robinson
Robinson is in the same boat as McBride, since Amendola doesn't make the roster, I don't have Robinson making it either.
TE Eugene Bright
I think there's good enough depth at the Tight End position, so that results in Bright getting cut.
OT/G Dallas Reynolds
I know it'll hurt Andy to cut Reynolds because he's a linemen from Brigham Young, but we have more than enough linemen on the roster, and we simply don't need him.
OT Chris Patrick
Patrick is too old for the practice squad, and he's definitely not making the roster.
G Mike Gibson
Since we drafted him last year, I haven't heard anything about him. We have enough depth at the offensive line without him.
DT Dan Klecko
He's getting older and wasn't really effective in his short time at Defensive Tackle last season. Were better of with just Laws and Howard here.
DT Amon Gordon
No idea who this guy is and Klecko would make the team over him.
LB Tracy White
I could see us keeping White because of how great he is on special teams, but I like the depth we have at Linebacker to go without him.
LB Charleston Hughes
White would make the team over Hughes. Hughes is just one of those small school projects, but I don't see him working out.
CB Courtney Robinson
There is great depth at Corner back so there is no need to keep Robinson.
S Reshard Langford
Like almost every other explanation, I feel that there is good enough depth at Safety, especially with the signings of Jones and Baker in the off season so we don't need to keep Langford.
S Byron Parker
Same explanation as Langford, except Langford would make the team over Parker.

G Paul Fanaika

CB Trae Williams
K Sam Swank
With this roster, and basing the season off of our schedule, I think the Eagles will win the division and finish the season with a 12-4 record. I see us making the Super Bowl, but losing to the New England Patriots.
Re-Signings/Let Goes
FB Leonard Weaver: Re-signed [3 years]
I think Weaver will prove to be the Fullback that the franchise has been looking for, for a couple years now. He fits the system perfectly and he's a: young, good and balanced Fullback.
WR Jason Avant: Let Go
As much as I like Avant, we don't need him. Our depth at Wide Receiver is good enough to let him go.
OT Winston Justice: Let Go
He was kept on the roster at the beginning of this season only because he was versatile and added good depth. He hasn't proved anything since we drafted him in the second round, so we don't waste the time to try and re-sign him.
G Max Jean-Gilles: Re-signed [2 years]
Jean-Gilles is a decent Guard and he adds good depth. He wants to stay in Philly because he realizes he could get some starting time in place for the not so durable Shawn Andrews.
LB Chris Gocong: Let Go
Gocong is a good player, and I think we'll make an effort to bring him back. The reason he doesn't come back is because he wants to test the free agent market and go to a team that runs the 3-4 defense, a system which he is probably better suited for.
LB Akeem Jordan: Re-signed [2 years]
I think we'll look to get an upgrade at this position in the off season. Jordan is a decent player and I think the only reason we bring him back is because of his ability defending the passing game which we struggle against.
LB Omar Gaither: Let Go
He'll serve the whole season as a backup, yet I see him wanting starter type money which is why he isn't brought back.
CB Ellis Hobbs: Let Go
Hobbs is getting older and we have some good, young depth at the Corner back position so it doesn't hurt letting him go.
S Sean Jones: Re-signed [2 years]
Jones is versatile and adds good depth. He could fill in at free Safety or Strong Safety if Mikell or Demps were to get injured.
S Rashad Baker: Let Go
He does good as a backup but he's getting older and we already re-signed Jones so there's no need to bring Baker back as well.
P Saverio Rocca: Re-signed [3 years]
Rocca was a great Punter last season and I expect him to continue his dominance which is why he gets a three year deal.
Coaching
Defensive Coordinator, Jim Johnson
After dealing with his health, and many successful years in the NFL, Johnson decides to retire. He will be missed by the entire franchise and especially the fans.
Secondary Coach, Sean McDermott
McDermott is promoted to defensive coordinator after Johnson retires. McDermott has done a great job with the secondary, and he was interviewed by some teams last off season to take over as their defensive coordinator.
Free Agency
LB Thomas Howard
The Raiders will have to choose between re-signing Kirk Morrison or Thomas Howard, and chances are they won't have enough money to bring both of them back, so they choose Morrison instead of Howard. Howard pushes Akeem Jordan as the backup. Howard is great defending the pass which we could really use.
2010 NFL Draft
1-31: LB Navorro Bowman [Penn State]
After Gocong decided to go elsewhere, the Eagles needed a replacement for him. They decided to take Pennsylvania native, Navorro Bowman to take over as the Strong Side Linebacker on our roster. Bowman is aggressive and is a very good tackler. He has also improved his skills defending the pass. He tends to guess on plays sometimes, but when he's right, he'll end up in the backfield racking up a tackle.
2-63: DE Jermaine Cunningham [Florida]
With Parker and Howard aging, and I'm not so sure with Bryan Smith, so we go with Cunningham to add some youth and depth. Cunningham is very quick coming off the edge and he has a lot of athleticism. He shows great effort and intensity on every play of every game and he never gives up. He has also gotten a lot tougher and stronger since coming to Florida.
3-76: DT Jared Odrick [Penn State] (Seahawks)
The Eagles go with another Penn State player to remain in the state of Pennsylvania. With the aging of Howard, there is need for some more youth to go along with Laws. Odrick is very athletic for a Defensive Tackle, he has very good quickness in his feet. He also has great size at 6'6-285. His size makes him great in run stuffing situations.
3-82: RB Charles Scott [Louisiana State] (Jets)
We all know that Lorenzo Booker isn't good at all, so we need a better option as our third string Running Back. Scott is a pure power back who can just power through opposing defenders to pick up the extra yards that he wants. He could be the answer on short yardage situations. Scott also possesses good balance and cutback ability. He also has decent speed as well.
3-95: QB Zac Robinson [Oklahoma State]
With McNabb aging, and after Kolb struggled again in short playing time he was given, it appears that we need to get a new Quarterback to develop under McNabb for a couple years until he retires or even gets traded. Robinson is similar to McNabb because he is athletic and fast. He has good accuracy on his throws, but his arm strength isn't there yet. He is a great fit for the West Coast offense.
4-127: CB Alterraun Verner [California, Los Angeles]
With Ellis Hobbs being let go, that opens up the need for another Corner. McDermott can easily develop Verner into a great dime back and possibly even more than that. Verner has great instincts. He can pick off any pass because he has good hands along with great body control.
5-144: TE Colin Peek [Alabama] (Saints)
With Celek and Ingram being more Receiving type Tight Ends, and with Schobel aging, that brings the need of a blocking Tight End which is what Peek is. In addition to being a great blocker, he is a decent pass catcher who has soft hands.
5-159: LB Keenan Clayton [Oklahoma]
Clayton can serve as a possible upgrade over Tank Daniels as the backup at Strong Side Linebacker. Clayton, being a former Safety, is great defending the pass, and he has great athleticism and speed.
6-191: S Cam Martin [Virginia Tech]
McDermott just wants a Safety to try and progress to make into a solid player. He takes a player that is familiar with the defensive scheme and a former teammate of "Macho" Harris. Martin is a better tackler than he is defending the pass, but with McDermott's help he can improve those skills.
Key Undrafted Free Agents
OT Marlon Winn
After a draft without any offensive linemen, you know Reid will definitely look to sign an undrafted free agent. Winn will provide some competition with King Dunlap as the backup at Right Tackle.
Pre Season Cuts
RB Lorenzo Booker
Booker is pretty much terrible, and after drafting Charles Scott, there's no more room on the depth chart for him.
TE Matt Schobel
Schobel is aging, and after drafting Peek, we don't need him anymore.
DL Darren Howard
I don't see Howard having a successful '09 season, and after drafting defensive line depth in the draft, there's no need for him anymore. Plus, he has a big contract as well.
DE Juqua Parker
There is good enough depth at defensive End and I see Abiamiri breaking out which leads to Parker getting cut because we don't need him anymore, especially after drafting Cunningham.
LB Tank Daniels
Daniels and Clayton have a battle in camp but Clayton wins, and since he's also younger than Daniels, Daniels winds up getting cut.

You had me at "Booker is pretty much terrible".
You put a lot of time and effort into this and I can't really disagree with anything you've done. Nice Job. _________________

A third round pick qb isn't going to make the practice squad lol.
Also losing gocong is just dumb, SAM linebackers don't grow on trees. _________________

Umm...
Eugene Bright is the best blocking TE on the roster
Kyle Eckel might be kept over Booker
Reggie Brown would be too big a cap penalty and he has looked good thus far in camps.
Mike Gibson is good depth.
Klecko wasn't effective? Those 2 sacks in 2 games aren't worth anything?
Tracy White might make it because of his special teams ability
Langford will be put on the PS
You're letting the entire team GO!
Jason Avant? Chris Gocong? Ellis Hobbs?
Thomas Howard is an awful fit for the system. He is good in coverage but he is overrated there and he is pretty bad against the run. No thanks.
Bowman is a WLB and you just signed Howard. Not to mention Bowman has character issues, more than any other player in the draft right now.
So you let 2 LE go and you draft a quick RE who isn't good against the run? We have 2 of them already in CLemons and Smith
Odrick is athletic and he is an UT but we don't need an UT. 6'6" and 285 is good for a 3-4 DE but not for a 4-3 NT. Try Dan Williams from Tennessee.
Charles Scott is good.
Zac Robinson is a good fit as well but you're giving up on Kolb? Kolb isn't THAT bad and he actually has potential.
Alterraun Verner is a first round talent. Mark it down. Verner is a great man to man corner. He anticipates things well and he has low 4.3 speed. He led the nation in PBU last season.
Colin Peek? Couldn't tell you the first thing about him.
Kennan Clayton being a former safety would be a WLB. So you let our 2 SLB go and you replace them with 3 WLB? Not smart.
Eh. S depth is good no need for Cam Martin.
Winn is a RT you say? Well then he won't be competing with Dunlap who is strictly a LT.
Good effort but... Not really great. SLB is a very key spot in the defense and you can't just slide anyone there and you just let the 2 SLB go and then drafted 2 WLB to replace them. Also you let two older LE go and replace them with a guy who is strictly a RE. _________________
