Sounds good to me. Declare an open competition, Quinn likely comes out victorious and gains confidence, is annointed the Franchise Qb he was brought in to be, and we trade Anderson to someone looking (possibly Minnesota). Ratliff serves as a decent young backup, and then we can pull in someone else as the #3. _________________

The OBR has countered with a story that suggests the browns like Quinns makeup, DA's big arm and size, and everything Ratliff does. They claim he has worked his way into this "open" competition as a serious possibility.
Just putting it out there... _________________

Great News.
Hopefully Quinn is the starter DA then can be moved for whatever We can get ( a 4 , lucky if we see a 3) Ratliff can be the Young servicable vet to back up Quinn hell maybe call Harrell back if He doesn't catch on elsewhere. _________________

I really hope all this talk of "open competition" is still just smoke screen to try and dump DA's contract. If they really do have a competition and Quinn loses....I don't even want to think about it. _________________

Man, too many mixed messages for me. First they aren't high on Brady, now they are...what's the deal? IMO they really like Ratliff and want him to eventually be the starter _________________ Murray State University Alum: Go Racers

With this article I think its Quinns job unless he does something stupid. Ratliff will be a solid number two and I can see DA getting traded before or during training camp. [/i] _________________ Winning isn't everything, but it beats anything that comes in second.”

I think ManKok is playing this really smart. They know Quinn is their guy but dont want anyone else to so they can get more value for DA. They probably knew DA would not be traded during the draft so they keep saying open competition so when a QB falls (and one usually falls a year) in Traning Camp or Preseason, and a team is despriate for a QB they will offer more for DA. They are just waiting for the next big injury to a QB or maybe but rare a suspension b/c of some illegal activity to force some team to go after DA. If that doesnt happen then they can even wait till an injury happens during the season to a team that still has a playoff chance and then they will spend big for DA.
If you think about it Browns already paid him the bonus, so they lose nothing but a small salary this year to hold him on the bench until the demand is there. Plus it give us insurance bearing any injury (god forbid) to Quinn. Overall very smart move by our organization. _________________

I can't wait for the day when Quinn is the starter, Ratliff is the #2 and who ever is the #3. I want stability at that position. Something that hasn't happened since they came back. Thank you who ever said NO. Unless they were getting Cutler in return, it never made sense. _________________
