Everything I've read about Three Floyds makes it sound nothing short of amazing. According to the beer rating sites, it's one of the top in the country. I wish I could get it here, but their distro is pretty limited. Them and Midnight Sun are the two that I know I can't get without help, but really want to try. |
Yeah, I had honestly never heard of it before (I had, but didn't remember at the time), but felt in the mood for a pale ale. Good to know I have good taste |

I believe it's just a yeast base and I'm generally not too concerned about it--after all, it sticks to the bottom while you're pouring and doesn't come off until you rinse it with the faucet on full-blast, so none of it gets into the glass when you pour it. But I wonder what I did wrong to make it that way--did I just syphon it poorly, or did wild yeast get into my bottles somehow? I just don't know. |
This is totally normal for a homebrewed bottle conditioned beer. Generally when a commercial beer is "bottle conditioned", only a tiny % of the pressurization is actually from the bottle conditioning. With homebrewing, 100% is, the yeast residual is much higher and you end up with a white base at the bottom of the bottles.
Anyway, all full reviews have been incorporated into the intro post to this point. _________________

Moosehead is the most disgusting beer I have ever had.
I am already sick of talking about it. _________________

I know it's not a higher end brew but it's fairly cheap and goes great with a lot of the meals I like. _________________

^^^ I tried this one time. Purely out of curiousity.
With that being said, grossest beer I have ever put in my mouth is Bud Light Lime. _________________

Has anyone had the special export Guinness? If not I'll get it next time and give it a review. I saw it on the way out of the store last time I was there.
Hopefully it is as good as their 250th. Man that stuff was good. _________________

It is truly gross. That and Newcastle are 2 of the worst beers I've had. |

Newcastle just didn't have a taste when I tried it, it was like brown water. _________________

Ranger IPA
Brewer: New Belgium Brewing Company (Fort Collins, CO)
Style: India Pale Ale
My Review:
Poured a rich gold color, with a finger tall head that disappeared. Body was on the lighter side. Lacing was great all the way down the glass. Scent was light bready malts, citrus, and a light pine. Taste was light malts, with a big bitter kick, and a light pepper finish.
Overall it was on the mild side, kinda like an IPA with training wheels. It would be a good way to get into the big hop beers, but too light for a hop head. It had all the characteristics of the style, but seemed like it need more ingredients. Not a bad taste, just not enough of one.
My Score: 5.75 _________________

If you go to the first page, you'll see that Waldo put up an index with links to all of the reviews. _________________
