What if we used Courtney Brown like Pittsburgh did with Kevin Greene and KC did in DT's first 2 seasons as a stand up Defensive End/OLB in a 3-4 defense. its really the same he would be blitzing 90% of the time. _________________

| I'll admit it... I love Courtney Brown lol.. No, he's a freakin awesome player, just for some reason he cant stay healthy, kinda like everyother player on the Browns team... He's a good DE, just keep him healthy... He needs to start taking his Flinstones Vitamins or something. |

I think he just works too hard and over works his body. bc he wants to prove to everyone that he wasnt a mistake and he is the real deal. ease up on the weights and the work out just a lil and i bet he can stay healthy. _________________

| I think the new staff, especially the former Jets strenght and conditioning coach, will make reducing injuries a major focus. I would love to see Courtney Brown have a breakout season. I welled up when I saw him being carted off the field in Dallas, and I don't want to see that look on his face ever again. It was at that point I knew the season was over. Winslow going down later that game sealed it. |

Been a while since he was talked about, but I just read a good article on him on the official site.
http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news_room/town/arts/4011.0.html
After reading that, I don't think there is any way you can blame him for his injuries. If the team got better and everyone was actually honoring the gaps they were responsible for, maybe he could stay healthy. |

i still say that he should go buh-bye...cause
A) injury plagued
b) with a 3-4, you dont need your best De to be a run stuffer..but a wuick pass rusher...
although he had bad luck, he be better suited to start his career anew somewhere else... |

| I'd let him stay to adjust and see if he'd fit in first.. If not, then get rid of him... |

I guess we will know what is going to happen with him by the end of the day, as he is due a roster bonus of $3.2M today ( 3/2 ).
But if Chris Samuels can get his huge contract restructured, I don't see why Courtney couldn't. (Or if it is even necessary after cutting/trading Griffith, Warren, and Green.) |

| Brown is a stud don't be surprised if he gets moved to linebacker on first and second down then plays DE on third down...he is exactly what Romeo wants in a player...TEAM FIRST and loads of potential just stay healthy i gotta believe he'll be given one more chance the man can flat out play. I read someplace that they asked him to drop some weight in order to play the hybrid position backer/end i hope he stays healthy and shows what he can do. |

Yeah, I know he's as fragile as origami. And yeah, I know that under the NFLPA CBA we won't be able to renegotiate his deal down to what might be considered a "reasonable" salary for this season. And yeah, I know he's just gonna break my heart all over again. . .
But man, the GLIMPSES we've had! Anyone remember the Bears game a couple of years ago (the one we lost on the laughable hail mary/onside kick/int return)? Courtney came out looking like the love-child of Deacon Jones and Bruce Smith on an angel dust jag. I was actually afraid for the Bears' players. Of course, he ended the game injured (sigh).
Isn't possible we might get one healthy, glorious season out of the big fella? Please, Lord. We deserve it. |
