TRADE ALERT
Do I have your attention? Good.
Just to back Crappy's (our awesome mods) opening to this thread, if you haven't read it please go back and do, let's have a good clean day today.
Now, I know I am a big debater, constant instigator and some like to call me "the beast", but in order to maintain flow and consistent conversation let's keep things clean!
You are going to love picks today, you are going to hate picks, but there is no need to start a fire sale of threads on our forum! Keep our conversation right here in this awesome thread started by Doclew.
The last thing we need is to wade through countless unnecessary threads created about your personal feelings. Set a good example today and enjoy there draft!
Last note: You know the usual Raiders haters will be popping up today from Bronco and Chief land, and anywhere else they dwell. Pay them no mind, we will show the league who we are in 2009!!
GO RAIDERS!!! _________________

Imagine we could trade for the Bills 2 first rounders? If NY trades up, then Jason Smith most likely goes to Seattle, then Cincy gets Smith or Monroe. That could leave one of those LT's for Buffalo to trade up for! _________________

Wow...Maybe Crabtree isn't the way to go. |
Dayamn, this guy is off to a bad start. _________________ RIP Al Davis. Thank you for this team |

But a lot of Raider fans did that last year with Darren McFadden (myself included) and look how that turned out. DHB could very well be the pick at #7 today. We all like to roll our eyes at the classic Raider "40 time" draft theory but just last year DMC was the pick. And in 2006, Michael Huff was the pick. And in 2005, Fabian Washington was the pick.
I'm not saying I hope it happens. I'm saying, "Be prepared for DHB". |
I get what you are saying, but the players we picked were the best prospects in their respected area. McFadden was the best Running Back coming out of last years draft, and Michael Huff was the best Safety going into his draft. It was the best picks at the time, and Al didn't draft solely on their 40 times, even though they helped.
When it comes to the 7th pick, I think Al Davis will make the right move and won't draft DHB. He likes 40 times, but he's not oblivious as to who is better in their position. _________________

DHB isn't that bad. He isn't really like Williamson (as I said before). I would be happy to take him if we traded down. The Giants are great talent evaluators and they want him badly. _________________

We do have a history of picking fast guys, which I don't mind, but we have to bodyswerve guys who are athletes, but not football players. Al is right to covet speed, as it can be game changing, BUT they have to have ability as well!
Last year, my objection to DMC was not that he had a bad 40 time, or his playing ability - I think both are fine, it was that we already had Fargas and Bush at RB while other parts of our team had gaping holes in them. |

| DHB is raw and has potential to be better than Crabtree abd MAclin, but he doesnt have the kind of potential to merit picking him over Andre Smith, or BJ RAJI, and #7 is too much of a reach for me, i would love to trade back and pick him up in the mid-low teens |
