Howdy gang, and welcome to the 2009 NFL Draft General Discussion Thread. Here's how it works:

- This thread is for general draft talk. Things like "Wow, I can't believe that the Cowboys took Graham Gano at 51, what are they thinking?" go in this thread.

- gothman25 and I will be starting threads for each draft pick in advance. These threads are for speculation about the draft pick, discussion relating specifically to the Eagles' pick, and subsequently talk about the player/pick itself once it's made.

- By all means, feel free to start separate threads for more in-depth discussion. Examples of topics for more in-depth discussion are "WRs: Why are they slipping?" and "Does this draft prove that character doesn't matter?" These all make for good topics to debate, and as such are deserving of their own threads.

- Please do not start new threads simply to say "We drafted Jeremy Maclin! Woo!" or "Welcome to Philly!" or "Haha, Dallas sucks for drafting a kicker in the second round!" Just like every other day of the year, forum rules apply. Warnings can and will be given out if rules are violated (for example, trolling, name calling, post padding, etc.).

- gothman25 and I will be around all weekend to answer any questions and solve any problems that you have. If a troll enters our forum, please, please do not respond. If there is a fight, both parties are equally punished. If you witness any rule violations, please PM either me or gothman25 (or both, preferably) so that it is assured that a mod is aware of it and can resolve the situation as soon as possible. Thank you all in advance.

- For the time being until shortly following the draft, we have unstickyed all other threads as to avoid clutter at the top of the page.

Now, without further ado...

I would kick Reid in the shin if this happened...but none the less I'm hoping for Britt in round 1, and a back in round 2, TE in Rd 3, move up into the 4th to take a CB/S...

Not that Maclin ever comes close to #21 but I would be fine with him. He immediately takes the RT duties away from both Demps and Desean in their expanded role this season as possible starters. Depending on how he adapts in camp could easily give Curtis a run for his money outside as well. He is a bigger ,stronger Desean Jackson. Even in 4 WR sets the options for reverse, deap passes, WR screens to either He or Desean is endless. He's a dangerous Playmaker who's 6'1" 200lbs. Not small by any means!!

I love Smiths body language and swagger on the field. Is there a more animated player in this draft?

He would become a fan favorite quickly.

holy crap tht is honestly the exact order i want to se those positions adressed as well. And Im also hoping for Britt. And I'll also kick Reid in the shin if we draft another WRthat can't beat a press.

Bad news, the last time the Eagles drafted a player in line with what my mock said, it was Tony Hunt. That means Britt will either be great for the Vi-queens, or suck for the Eagles.

As far as WRs go, I'm pulling for Kenny Britt or DHB. It'll be interesting (especially now) to see what the Eagles do with their remaining 1st round pick.

I can almost promise you the Eagles will trade a few more picks before the draft. It's great that we still have 10 picks after getting Peters, but I can't imagine any way of ANY team finding place on their team for 10 new rookies. It's just too hard. And it would be a huge waste to draft 10 players and cut a good bit of them because they won't fit.

That being said. They'll trade to move up or they'll trade for more picks next year. Bet it.

They were even better in previous years when they had a first round pick. I think last year's was, "Man, I can't believe the Cowboys took Anthony Morreli with the 21st pick!" or something like that.

Anyways, I'm really a big fan of Moreno. I think he would make an immediate impact spelling Westbrook as the second back. I also wouldn't mind if we picked Smith with #21. He could replace Sheldon if we trade him.
