With Zach Thomas the Cheifs seem like they got a pretty decent defense going .. so say they draft Curry, prettty good front seven

DE- ???
DT- Glenn Dorsey
DE- Tamba Hali

OLB- Mike Vrabel
ILB- Zach Thomas
ILB- Aaron Curry
OLB- Derrick Johnson

Hali playing a 3-4 end won't work well, but hopefully I'm wrong.

If we draft Curry I think it would run like this:

DE - Glen Dorsey/Tamba Hali
NT - Tank Tyler/Edwards
DE - Turk McBride/Alfonso Boone

OLB- Mike Vrabel
ILB- Zach Thomas
ILB- Aaron Curry
OLB- Derrick Johnson

Here is my opinion

DE - Alfonso Boone, Turk McBride
NT - Tank Tyler, Ron Edwards
DE - Glenn Dorsey
"Elephant" - Mike Vrabel, Brian Johnston, Tamba Hali

ILB - Derrick Johnson, Cory Mays
ILB - Zack Thomas, Monty Beisel
OLB - DeMorrio Williams, Darrell Robertson, Andy Studebaker

With Tamba looking really ugly at that outside linebacker spot but we will see how it goes.

There is a very good chance that we will be starting a rookie from the upcoming draft at one of the linebacking positions and heavily rotating in another rookie at a second linebacking position.

It doesn't look that great but luckily Scott Pioli and the gang know more than I do.

I like the signing, though he may be a little older now, and obviously not the long term answer, but I definitely feel safer with Thomas and Vrabel, as opposed to throwing a bunch of UNPROVEN rookies in there.

Definately.

Thomas and Vrabel are NOT the answer. They are short time player (2 years at best) with mentoring ability to guys like Curry when they bring them in.

Nice move by the Chiefs

They are going to bypass Curry because they have just signed two LB who are in their mid 30s? Only Matt Millen would do that.

The Chiefs are not contending for the Super Bowl. They are better off playing the unproven rookies.

EAcantdraft:

That is true, they are rebuilding, but at the same time, they should make somewhat of an effort to win games, and Vrabel and Thomas give them the best chance to do so.

*By NO MEANS am I insisting that the Chiefs are now set at LB! But I do like the Thomas signing...

While Zach Thomas signing with KC really is about a miniscuel signing as you can get at this point in his career, I am starting to think more and more that the Chiefs are very, very seriously conidering BJ Raji - whether Aaron Curry is there, or not.
