He is a decent prospect, with pretty good strikeout and walk rates (139 K and 40 BB in 156 at Class A). I'm not sure why the Rockies would ever trade for a guy with a lifetime 5.90 ERA, especially when we already have a crowded rotation and bullpen. They added just another borderline Major Leaguer, and gave up a guy with more potential than that. _________________

Two things:

1.) Little does this show that Shields threw a hard right and completely missed Coco. It took a slide tackle from Navarro for Shields to hit him when he was down.
2.) 9 doesn't equal 8
Here's to another year of down-to-the wire Rays-Red Sox games and taking down those damn Yankees! _________________

Shields may have missed, but damn that was one of the best looking failed attempts at a punch I've ever seen. Also when you're the AL East champs 9 equals whatver you want it too . Agreed on the last part, hopefully the Rays and Sox show the Yankees money doesn't buy the playoffs.... Even though Jeter is the man. _________________

Shields always has a bad game at Fenway. Three hits, one homer, and one double that almost went out so far. _________________

Just turned on the game, 5-1 . Also I know the year just started but I'm shocked how well the O's have been hitting so far this season. CC had a rough game yesterday and there making it even harder for Wang tonight. _________________

We are playing good tonight. Getting runners on and Boston has made poor judgement in the field. Plus Kazmir has been pretty good lets hope he continues on this way. Carlos Pena finally broke his slump with that homerun. But as far as the Yankees CC always struggles early on in the year so its not a surprise the way he pitched to me. Wangs soft tossing has always been rocked by Baltimore in 2007 they hit 381 off him with an era over 6. In 2006 era of 5.12 and hit 329 off of him. What the Yankees need to do is move Joba to the pen and use Kennedy and Hughes in the rotation. |
