The Buccaneers told QB Jeff Garcia to move on and that they are not interested in bringing him back next season, ending his time with the Bucs after two seasons.

http://blogs.tampabay.com/bucs/2009/02/bucs-tell-garci.html

*Garica originally signed as an undrafted free-agent with the the 49ers in 1999, in two seasons with the Buccaneers Garcia threw for 25 TD's and 10 INT's.

I keep feeling this is similar to the Doug Flutie story, he played well for a number of teams and still teams looked to replace him... he was benched last season pretty early after a really good 2007 season and then once he got back in the lineup the Bucs played very well, the defense was in fault for them missing the playoffs.

Sad story for Jeff, i hope its not over for him.

I'd like to see the Hawks take a look at him. Would be a great Back up for Hasselbeck. Considering Hass's injury history.

Future CFL QB. Oh wait.

Good for Tampa moving forward from Gruden. Garcia is a decent QB, but Tampa Bay needs to get younger.

Who seriously wants a 39 year-old QB who sacrifices himself all the time? Garcia takes some insane risks, sometimes I think he fails to realize that he is 39. He is a little injury-prone, but other then that, fine. I hope it isn't the end of the road for him, but 2006 was so long ago it isn't even funny.

I'd like to see him go to the Packers to be a backup for a year... I'm not too confident in Brohm and Flynn as the two backups behind Rodgers.

They didn't tell Garcia, they told his agent. I thought they'd handle it with a little more diplomacy Confused

Why would he do that when he is still playing better than half the Qb's in the league? If im not mistaken he was just a PB QB in 07 and last year he was 65% completion with a 2 to 1 TD to int ratio with like 12 td's 6 int's Thats much better than alot of teams QB. This is coming from a Buc hater and im glad he's not there anymore.
