I've been to Alltel stadium and I have to say the situation there is sad. They have a nice stadium and all that, but man... you just see all these black Jaguars tarps over seats. They don't have the crowd support that justifies having a team there... I think LA would be more receptive to having a football team. If I recall correctly, the Rams didn't move for lack of support from the LA football market... they moved because their owner wanted to move the team to her hometown after the Cards bolted for Arizona.

God not this again...How many games did the Jaguars have blacked out this season?

Before the tarps the Jags had to fill up the 4th largest stadium in the NFL at almost 77,000 seats in one of the smallest markets. Now it holds 67,164 makeing it the 20th largest stadium in the league in one of the smallest markets.

Once again I ask. Did the Jags have any problem with blackouts this past season?

We had a horrible year this year and still managed to have 0 blackouts. Wayne Weaver insists the Jags aren't going anywhere. The Jaguars are sitting in a city that isn't falling as fast as most other cities in this economy and will be growing rapidly again after it starts to rise again.

I just don't see why people always think the Jaguars are moving when they aren't doing that bad after all. People just refuse to see that.

They should move the Jags to LA. They dont deserve an NFL team.

The Vikings and Lakers match well, color-wise.

Plus the Lakers originally moved from Minnesota too, i think it was meant to be

Raiders or Chargers will move, as to not upset conference alignments.

Only place that the Saints would move to would be San Antonio IMO.

Like I asked the other guy. What's the reason? No one's presented a valid reason for it to be the Jaguars.

The one hesitation I have on that, even though unfortunately, it looks like a good opportunity to happen, is that I can envision Al Davis filing an injunction saying that the Raiders have jurisdiction over the LA area. He's crazy enough to try to pull it off.
true. that or moving hte Raiders in first. the Oakland stadium now sucks.

I'm hoping this thread doesn't de-evolve into is one where 90% of the folks choose to go down one of 2 routes:

A) Throwing another team under the bus because their own team is one of the one's that has already been mentioned as a potential candidate for a move to LA. (i.e. I've seen already some Team A fan - I'm not naming names - be more than willing to volunteer Team B as being more likely to move than their own, without much basis as to why beyond superficial reasons.)

B) Hating on Los Angeles and the football fans therein. (Which is something that always seems to happen whenever the notion of a tam in LA comes up.)

Something that needs to be taken into consideration is that the gentleman who has been at the forefront of driving this new stadium ordeal has already expressed an interest in having a share of ownership (even a minority share) in the franchise in Los Angeles. So certain teams, particularly those with sole ownership under a particular individual are probably out.

The main reason for this is that those singular individuals are very much independently wealthy, in many cases aside from the annual revenue generated by their team. The fact is, even though entertainment products generally tend to see an increase in demand during times of economic distress and hardship, the current state of the economy (and the fact that a rebound to true stability is well over 48-60 months away) affects professional sports beyond just the demand of fans to purchase tickets.

Los Angeles Saints seems to make the most sense..to me , possibly the Raiders. Id hate to see it be the Chargers..but thats possible to.

If its the Saints..there should be realignment t some point...

NFC South becomes
Tampa Bay
Atlanta
Carolina
St. Louis

NFC West
Los Angeles
San Francisco
Seattle
Arizona

St. Louis just needs to get back on track..its a good sports town..

New Orleans just seems to make the most sense to me..new stadium, economy etc , I know it will be very disappoining but they'd be my candidate.

St. Louis is anything but Southern. if you want to do a real geographic re-allignment you move Dallas to the South, Green Bay to the East, and St. Louis to the North.
