http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9112052/NFL-back-to-L.A.?-City-approves-stadium-plan

Quote:
The city of Industry's planning commission has approved a proposal for a football stadium intended to lure an NFL team back to the Los Angeles area.

The action on Thursday is the latest step in the approval process for the $800 million venue in the industrial and warehousing city 15 miles east of Los Angeles.

Officials with developer Majestic Real Estate Co. have said they'll begin contacting NFL teams about a possible move if the City Council gives final approval to the plan on Feb. 26.

Now the speculation will really begin to heat up about which team will be moving there...

California's in a budget crisis (what else is new) right now which will undoubtedly effect LA and is not conducive to a team coming here just yet, but it's just a matter of time. Soon there will be either the Los Angeles Jaguars or Los Angeles Chargers (if San Diego doesn't give the team a new stadium).

There is also the possibility of the LA Vikings, LA Bills, LA Raiders, and LA Rams.

No, they're still struggling to get a bill passed in the Legislature.

The one hesitation I have on that, even though unfortunately, it looks like a good opportunity to happen, is that I can envision Al Davis filing an injunction saying that the Raiders have jurisdiction over the LA area. He's crazy enough to try to pull it off.

Louisiana needs to come up with 25 millions big ones to keep both the Saints and Hornets in town. So, the Saints going to Los Angeles could be a possibility.

The City of Angeles gets the Saints. I must say it's got a ring to it. As much as I'd hate to see New Orleans lose the Saints because that city still hasn't rebounded from Katrina, the Saints would be one of the teams that makes the most sense. Former Trojans Reggie Bush and Sedrick Ellis would sell jerseys like they were giving them away and Drew Brees has a solid SoCal fan base from his time with the Chargers. I would bet by 2012 there will be a Los Angeles team. Hopefully it's AFC so I have a shot of seeing my Steelers come to town.
