Dan Snyder obviously doesn't know what's going down these days.

Right, that must be the reason he knows how to play the salary cap.

The guy has played 7 years in the league and has recorded 15 TD's while been given the role of a player who excels in the 'gimmick' and 'trick' plays. He has good versatility, but certainly, couldn't Snyder have played the salary cap better by signing someone else to a long-term deal?

Plus, look at how he values draft picks and his tendecny to bomb Free Agency. The guy isn't a good owner.

Do you mean when u signed the overatted randle el. Or do you mean now. Cause Randle el would be a bad cap hit if he was cut now. So extending the contract of both these bums was good moves. Like most skins fans have said neither will be around more than 2 more years.

Randle el is on the skins now just to fill in a space until kelly and Thomas are ready to be full time starters.

Hey, let's give the man some credit. They actually weren't active in FA for once last year. Plus, he isn't on Crazy Al's level... yet.

I was just asking a general question. The move is questioning, but if it was the only way out to handle the situation, it clears things up a bit to make them more manageable.

I wouldn't expect most of you to understand the intricacies of the redskins cap like some (Woz specifically) but it was necessary and we have proven in the past that it has paid off to restructure like we have. I fully expect both to be gone in 2 years, most likely after 1. The specifics of the contract will allow us to do so.

Do you mean when Snyder signs overrated, overpriced players for big salaries, and then has to hire the "David Blaine" of accounting to figure out ways to get out of salary cap hell?

The "David Blaine" of accounting?...
Haha, I like that.

Surprisingly this does not help our cap situation. For 2009 it does, but not for the years beyond.

Just because we restructured does not mean the money went away. It just got spread out over a longer period of time. Their contracts got extended to 2015 so chances are, they are going to be gone in the next 2-3 years. Then their dead cap space will haunt us for at least 2 years.

This is not the smartest thing to do, but we have not learned from past mistakes. We are paying for Brandon Lloyd on this salary cap because of bad cap management. Up until last year we were still paying for Mark Brunell.

So it helps now, but 3 years from now, we are still going to be paying for these contracts. The money does not go away. It simply gets reshuffled. Salaries get moved to bonuses and get spread over longer contract years.

Cutting El and Carter before all this would have cost us nearly 6 million in cap space that we couldn't afford. But restructuring allowed us to save 4.4 million dollars.

For this year it helps but the coming years are going to hurt us in the long run. Not too mention trading away draft picks for old players at the end of their careers i.e. Jason Taylor.

Seriously. It gets old, heck it wasn't even funny the first time. I honestly don't like randle el because I have to hear him say that before every game.
