Welcome to Restricted Free Agency (RFA and ERFA)
Timeline and guidelines for the ERFA/RFA period:

Tuesday Feb 3rd -- ERFA offers are listed as well as all RFA tenders listed in the same post. All teams must list all their ERFA's and whether or not they are extending them an offer of 1 year, $400,000. All teams must list all their RFA's and whether or not they are extending them an offer and which tender the are giving them. Teams will have the entire day 8am until 10pm to list their RFA tenders and ERFA offers. ERFA's are signed immediately once offer is posted. If you miss the deadline for posting your tenders today you will have a chance to do so tomorrow however you will not receive any pick compensation if a team bids for your player and you choose not to match.

Wednesday, Feb 4th -- Now that all RFA tenders have been listed opposing teams will have the entire day to determine if they want to make an offer to an RFA not on their team. If they decide they would like to make an offer they will PM the GM of the opposing team their offer. You can only PM the offer as we want to keep these offers private.
The offers will be 3 year deals. (example: Wash offers ATL OG, Harvey Dahl a 3 year 21M deal. They cap hit for FFMD is the total contract divided by the years, or 21/3=7M cap hit this year) Bids will only be submitted through PM's so other teams cannot see the bids and simply outbid a team by 1M. This entire day until 10pm will be used for GM's to accept offers for their tendered RFA's. The highest bid is the offer the team must match. However the GM must post all offers he receives beginning after 10pm.

** After 10pm GM's are allowed to list all the offers they received for their RFA's in their war rooms. No offers past 10pm will be accepted.

Thursday, Feb 5th -- GM's will post all their offers they recieved for their RFA's before Noon in the main RFA thread. They then will have until 8pm to either match the offer (3yr-21M) or let the player go to the new team and receive the correct draft pick compensation. At anytime starting Thursday morning if a decision has been made about matching a deal GM's or AGM's ONLY can post in the RFA thread. (Noon to 8pm is just the max allotment of time). In this case Washington would give ATL their 2nd round pick for Harvey Dahl if ATL doesn't match. If ATL does match they sign Dahl to the 3yr/21M deal with 7M against their cap this year. 8pm RFA ends and we move all the ERFA and RFA's not given a contract into the UFA pool.

If the tendering team does not respond to your offer by the deadline and no other team made an offer to the same RFA you will tentatively sign that player. If this happens please PM me so we can make sure all parties understand the process moving forward.

We will only use 3 year deals in this segment just like the talent agency is using and the cap hit for FFMD will be the total contract amount divided by the years (3).

Example:
Atlanta Falcons tender OG, Harvey Dahl with a 2nd round tender ($1,544,530). Tuesday ends.

Wednesday, the Washington Redskins offer Dahl a 3 year 21 Million Dollar contract via PM to Atlanta Gm(scar988). (7M against the cap for FFMD)

Atlanta's GM must keep his offer private until Wednesday after 10pm. After 10pm the GM can post in his war room to discuss the offers received and their order of business going forward with the player. By noon Thursday the ATL GM must post all offers they recieve in their war room and in the RFA thread. They will have until 8pm Thursday to post in the RFA thread whether they match the offer or not.

If Atlanta chooses to match Washington's offer they sign Dahl to the 3 year 21M deal with 7M to go against the cap this year.
If Atlanta chooses not to match Washington's offer then Washington signs Dahl to the 1 year 7M deal and they send Atlanta their 2nd round pick as that was the tender.

If no team extends a contract offer to your player you sign your player to the tender level listed ($1,544,530 in this example as that is the 2nd round contract)

Teams are allowed to bid on restricted free agents (RFA’s) but only restricted free agents. All teams are allowed to bid on all RFA’s whether they have been tendered or not. Teams will have to bid on their own RFA’s and an offer does not automatically mean you will sign that player. Compensation will be awarded whether a player was tendered or not, if applicable. The orginial team maintains the right of first refusal (ROFR) whether they tender an offer or not. The minimum qualifying offer for a RFA is $1,010,430 dollars. There will not be a 12 hour window in this segment of FFMD for offers to be accepted. We will use the timeline listed above with days from 8am-10pm to make it easier to follow. If the previous team chooses not to match the offer on Thursday, Feb 5th, the RFA is officially signed by the new team and appropriate compensation will be awarded when necessary. After the RFA period ends, all RFA’s and ERFA’s who were not re-signed or signed by another team will become unrestricted free agents where teams can bid on their services during that time period. If you choose not to tender a RFA another team is able to bid for their services and that player will not pass into the UFA pool. The team who chose not to tender the RFA or match the offer will receive no pick compensation and the RFA will be signed to the proposed offer by the new team.

There will be 5 levels of tenders for FFMD-09:
Compensation(Tender) Breakdown:
No pick compensation ($1,010,430)
Original draft round compensation ($1,010,430)
2nd round pick compensation ($1,544,530)
1st round pick compensation ($2,198,530)
1st and 3rd round pick compensation ($2,792,580)

• $1,010,430 for the team to retain the right of first refusal (ROFR) without any draft choice compensation
• $1,010,430 for ROFR or the team receives draft choice compensation equal to the draft round at which the player originally entered the league if they chose not to match an offer
• $1,544,530 for ROFR or the team receives one second-round draft pick if the offer is not matched
• $2,198,530 for ROFR or the team receives one first-round pick
• $2,792,580 for ROFR or the team receives one first round and one third-round pick.

How do you bid on or for a restricted free agent via PM to the opposing team's GM or AGM?

Exclusive-Rights Free Agents (ERFA)
Timeline: Tuesday, February 3rd from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

An Exclusive-Rights Free Agent is an NFL player who is not under contract, but has only two years of NFL experience. If your team has an ERFA you may choose to offer these players the minimum contract of $400,000 or opt to release hm from the team. At that point the player will become an unrestricted free agent. This period will coincide with the RFA period. You will either offer your ERFA player a contract or release them. Please keep all your ERFA’s in one post so it is easier to follow for everyone involved. There will be no cap penalty for releasing a ERFA if signed to the 400k tender.

The ERFA tender is a one year $400,000 dollar contract.

How do you sign an exclusive rights free agent?
