I put this in another cowboys forum and got different answers. I know we all look forward to the draft, but we overlook free agents (mostly because the last one we got that made a difference was deon sanders) How many free agents ya'll think we'll sign this year? I'm saying 4 one back running back one D line guy one o line guy and probably one safety. The reason why I ask is because what we do in free angency affects the D we'll run and draft picks
Like if we get Pat williams I think we'll definitly be 34 next year
If they sign Jerry Porter forget about Mike williams
If they don't sign an o-lineman than 1 of the 3 first picks will be on the o line. |

I would like them to take a run at the 2 Steelers, Bell and Burress. Also, the corner from Seattle, Ken Lucas. I guess we have to sit tight until March to find out. |

It starts March 1. This way it gives you plenty of time before the draft. June 1 is a date for a lot of roster bonuses and also additional cuts are made then so to save cap room in '05. They can split it into '05 and '06. March 1 is for the current Free Agents.
Hope that helps. |

i think as wildy unrealistic as it is that if we put together this team we can go to the bowl next year.... put me in my place im dreaming i know, especially with the trades... i havent taken as much time to research this as Trojans and this "mock" isnt anywhere close to being as good as some of yalls, but cmon this could be great!!!!! |

JLanes,
Those trades are off...the Deadskins and Cowboys would never make a trade together.
If we trade Glover, Id like to get extra picks for him, not just move up a couple spots.
Signing Bledsoe isnt out of the picture, but lets keep Henson and leave Rivers be.
Dont trade Ellis.
You didnt get us any extra picks for Ellis or Glover. We'd only trade one anyways.
If we want to move up to #4...picks #11 and #42 should be almost enough alone. |

At 1st I was worried that the Cowboys would be conservative in free agency like they were last year but lately it's looking like they'll be pretty active. I still don't see them going on a shopping spree, but I really do believe they'll fill some holes with some quality pick-ups. So in my opinion I think they'll sign three NOTABLE free agents. They may sign 5 or 6 guys in free agency, but I think it'll only be 3 being highly productive players. |

this is a dumb poll question - do you mean BIG NAME Free Agents? Or simply any Free Agents? Because anyone that voted under six is simply retarded - we've already signed 3 (Willie Blade, Woody Dantzler, and Kevin DeRonde) and theres no way we dont sign at least 10 more before the season begins. |

First of all it's not a dumb question because what is done in free angency is a window into what will be done in the draft and in the season. I'll break it down for the over analyst and not insightful folks, I was talking about players from other teams. I'm talking about players that will contribute to the team and not vinny t. players from dominic rhodes to Julian peterson to adam vinitary. I suppose the real question is how different will this team look as soon as next month or before the draft? Is that good enough for you? |
