OK...week 1 is finally here and the Rams have a great chance to start the season on a good note by taking on the rival 49'ers and a chacne to get a leg up in the division race...post your pre game/in game/post game thoughts...[/b]

The 49ers have a pretty decent front seven; however, their corners are average at best.

So I see the Rams throwing a lot to force them to drop their LBs and SS into coverage which will open up the running game.

On defense, the Rams should have their way against an offensive line that is mediocre on its best day.

For an idea of what this looks like, see the Rams pre-season game against Detroit and replace Harrington with Rattay.

If the O-line holds up, Bulger should be able to tear apart their secondary. I'm not worried about Jackson being able to run against their front 7. I have a good feeling about him. I think he's going to be one of those special guys that can be successful against any defense.

As for our defense...well, they have to stop the 49ers offense...so, they shouldn't give up many points.

Prediction: 34-10 Rams

At it looks like the 49ers best playmaker (TE Johnson) won't be playing.

He really did a number against the Rams last year.

i cant believe that one of the best offenses loses to the worst team last year. Shocked

SF played their buts off but STL almost came back to win.

They were the worst team cause of injuries and the game was no shock to me

SF won this game for two reasons:

1. Special Teams Play

One punt return for a TD and an onside kick that led a TD were part of a 21pt 2nd Qtr

2. Red zone Defense

The Rams had to settle for FGs on their first four trips into SF territory. They score a TD on any one of those and they win.

Good job to Coach Nolan for getting his team ready to play and taking advantage of the Rams weaknesses - special teams and red zone offense.
