Hey guys I stole another fun thread. This one is from jing. Here is the link. FF Pick em. Please feel free to join his thread as well as this one.
This thread is for our Forum.

[following Monday Night Football], a new thread will be posted with a list of that weeks NFL match-ups. Your main job as a participant is to select the winners of each game for every week throughout the NFL season. How do you do that? Well, some members will take it upon themselves to make a fancy display of color and creativeness. Others may give their explanations for why they see a certain team winning. The most common method however, is by placing the bold tags over the teams you have winning their game. Here is an example:

This helps us in tallying up the right and wrongs of each member throughout the season.

Changes can be made between the start of the thread, and the closing of the thread. To avoid the intentions of those who may think to cheat, a forum moderator will lock each weeks new thread after a certain period of time. Typically the deadline is a couple of hours prior to the start of a weeks first match-up. Because of this, the cut-off date to submit your weekly predictions fluctuates depending upon schedule. If it becomes an inconvenience to some, I apologize but we cannot stop the competition for just one person. So be sure to get in your predictions at a safe time. You can also PM to me your picks if that is an easier method.

You need to make a prediction for EVERY game on the schedule that is presented for that given week. This competition will be hosted throughout the regular season, and then again for the post-season. Two separate rankings will follow. The post-season rankings and the regular season rankings. The overall winner will have to have had the most correct choices; the least amount of incorrect choices by ratio. The overall winner receives bragging rights, the claim to being this years winner, and maybe even an avatar or signature-band as graphic proof. The results after each week will be included within the first post.

If you happen to miss one week, that doesn't mean you can't still participate and perhaps even make a push for the top spot. Last year there were many people who didn't get to every week for whatever reason, but still managed to finish with a high ranking. Another misconception from last years version of this contest, is that members who join the website after the first week of FF Pick 'Em can't participate. You can join this thing at any point during the year. It's open to whoever is interested and is hopefully welcoming to everyone looking for a little bit of competitive fun.

Lastly, show some common courtesy and respect for the website rules. It will take some committed work to go over every members predictions and compile a record database for everyone to see. If I can't get the results updated immediately after, please show some patience. If your total tally is off by a game or two in week 16 for example, just let me know privately so that I can fix it. At that point, there will be a ton of numbers being added together so if there is a minor mistake like that at some point, just notify me. Thanks!

Also, this is something I remember from last years threads, AVOID CONVERSATION. Although this may be a football forum where you are encouraged to talk amongst everyone else, these threads are only for members to place their predictions in. If you disagree with something somebody predicted or just have an urging curiosity as to why your team is the consensus "loser" for a week, take it out via PM's or in a separate thread. I'll talk to the administration here about possibly holding another thread for weekly chatter over the picks. I believe that was what happened last year. If not, then just do as instructed.
